If you're heading to Shanghai Stadium or Sports Arena for a concert, it's only one stop on the metro—or even easier, a short walk or bike ride away. This A.T.HOUSE property has that modern art vibe I love. The second-floor afternoon tea lounge and late-night dining spot are both stylish and inviting. The pastries are delicious, and the chicken soup wontons as well as the pork-filled dumplings are seriously satisfying. I was originally booked into a room type that wasn’t available yet, but the team kindly upgraded me to a Premium Suite—huge upgrade in space, view, and design. Everything felt thoughtfully curated. I ordered fresh fruit platters after my concert, and they arrived at my door in no time. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, and the service throughout was top-notch. Even at check-out, they handed me a lovely souvenir—a large record-shaped biscuit box that’s both cute and tasty. If there’s another concert in town, this will be my go-to hotel again.

From the very first greeting, the service was exceptional—Esther from front desk went above and beyond: upgraded our room, offered a two-hour late check-out without hesitation, and even shared her WeChat for easy communication. That kind of personal touch is rare. Breakfast was an absolute highlight—huge variety, beautifully presented. From freshly steamed dim sum and handmade noodles to a wide selection of breads, oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, and even ice cream, every detail was thoughtfully curated. But what truly stole the show was the garden. Lush green lawns, mature trees casting dappled sunlight, historic buildings nestled among foliage—perfect for quiet strolls or Instagram-worthy shots. You can easily walk to People's Square, Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, The Bund, Jing'an Temple, Wukang Road, Song Qingling Residence, Sun Yat-sen’s Former Home, Tianzi Fang, and even the Shanghai Natural History Museum or Cai Yuanpei’s Former Residence—all within a pleasant walking distance. Along the way, you’ll pass charming old shikumen homes, cozy cafes, boutique shops, and historic landmarks, making every stroll feel like a little adventure through Shanghai’s soul. The hotel’s lush garden on the south side is a peaceful retreat—perfect for unwinding in the middle of the bustling city. While some facilities show their age, everything is well-maintained and blends beautifully with Shanghai’s classic charm. Service is exceptional—attentive, thoughtful, and clearly influenced by Japanese hospitality standards. Even the hallway has that subtle, calming Japanese aesthetic. Breakfast is a highlight too, offering authentic Japanese touches like natto and miso soup, alongside a wide variety of other options. It’s rare to find such a well-balanced mix of location, atmosphere, service, and comfort. Staying at Mandarin Oriental Pudong Shanghai was absolutely perfect — truly flawless! We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, and the hotel surprised us with a delicious cake and a beautifully presented fruit platter. The attention to detail made the moment even more special. We booked the Riverview Executive Suite, and it lived up to every expectation — spacious, elegant, and offering breathtaking views of the Huangpu River, especially at night. Every staff member we met was incredibly attentive, polite, and genuinely warm, making us feel like VIP guests throughout our stay. From check-in to check-out, everything was seamless and thoughtful. We’ve already planned our next trip to Shanghai just to enjoy the autumn foliage — the ginkgo and red leaves are calling! My wife and I stayed at Park Hyatt Shanghai for one night, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The room was spacious and impeccably clean, with a modern design that felt both luxurious and calming. Everything was brand new—especially the smart toilet, which added a nice touch of convenience. The café on the 87th floor is a real gem; sitting there with a view of the Huangpu River was unforgettable. Special thanks to Ms. Zhou Liping, who went above and beyond with her warm and attentive service—always checking in, helping out, and making us feel truly cared for. The front desk staff were equally welcoming and efficient, creating a seamless check-in experience. From start to finish, the level of hospitality was outstanding. It’s rare to find such genuine warmth and attention to detail. We left feeling completely at home, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shanghai.
