Zhongwei Shangde Hotel

I recently stayed at Zhongwei Shangde Hotel in Xi'an, and overall it was a very positive experience. The room was spacious and well-maintained, and the location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from the Bell and Drum Towers and close to Wukou Metro Station, making exploration super convenient. The value for money is excellent, which makes it a strong choice for travelers on a budget or looking for a central base. That said, there are a few small improvements that could enhance the stay: the bathroom drain design isn’t ideal—it tends to clog easily and lacks a cover, so water often spills out during showers, creating a bit of a mess. Also, the tea provided in the room was quite basic; upgrading the selection would add a nice touch. Lastly, the mattress is on the softer side, which might not suit guests who prefer firmer bedding. Despite these minor points, the hotel offers great comfort, cleanliness, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’d definitely consider returning on my next visit to Xi’an.

Also, no one at the front desk asked if I was driving, which is something I’d expect from a higher-end hotel—proactively offering parking information or assistance would make the stay even more seamless. Grand Soluxe International Hotel

But once I arrived, the comfort, service, and convenience made me want to stay longer. The hotel is perfectly positioned—just a short walk from metro lines and bus stops, making it incredibly easy to explore key attractions like the City Wall, Big Goose Pagoda, and ancient Daming Palace. The room view? Stunning—direct sightlines to the historic city wall and train station, which added a special charm to our stay. Special shoutout to Mr. Wei Xinglong from the concierge team—he went above and beyond helping with luggage and package collection, always cheerful and efficient. The front desk staff, Xiao Hao and Xiao Liu, were warm, professional, and attentive. When we mentioned the room felt a bit warm on our first night, they immediately upgraded us to a larger suite at no extra cost—a truly unexpected and thoughtful gesture that made our trip even more memorable. Housekeeping was spotless, and the room had excellent natural light, giving it a bright, inviting feel. Even though the hotel has seen some years, the design and furnishings still exude quality and elegance, and the bedding was incredibly comfortable after long days of sightseeing.
