The front desk team was incredibly warm and helpful; when I had a late flight, they kindly allowed me to check out two hours later, even offering advice to use the on-site gym to freshen up before leaving. Cleanliness was excellent overall—especially the fitness center, which was spotless and professionally cleaned every evening around 10 PM. The only downside? On my last day, I found a large cockroach in the tea cabinet. As someone who’s extremely sensitive to bugs, this was genuinely alarming. Definitely recommend improving pest control measures. Despite that minor issue, I’d absolutely choose SO/Auckland again on my next trip to Auckland—this place truly stands out.

The room was cozy and slept like a dream, with a well-stocked mini-bar that had everything I needed. One small downside: no complimentary bottled water in the room. When I asked at reception if they could provide one, they suggested I get it from Kingi’s, but declined because I didn’t have a reusable bottle—a bit disappointing, especially since the hotel promotes green practices.
