I was a bit nervous about smoke smell in the room, so I specifically asked the front desk for a unit that had been vacant the previous night—perfect choice! The room was immaculate and completely free of any lingering odors. Spacious and thoughtfully designed, it even featured a little balcony where I enjoyed my morning coffee with a view. The breakfast blew me away: warm congee, freshly ground soy milk and coffee, a great selection of fresh fruits, savory stir-fries, steamed dishes, and homemade desserts—all delicious and well-presented. The oversized, cozy sofa was the cherry on top; I just wanted to stay put all day. Great location, friendly staff, and incredible value for money. This is definitely a place I’ll return to next time I’m in Chengdu.

This stay was absolutely fantastic! The hotel’s location is perfect—just a short walk to Chengdu East Railway Station, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Grabbing a taxi was quick and easy, making travel in and out a breeze. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and efficient—check-in and check-out went smoothly, and they even offered to carry my luggage and gave helpful directions. The room was spotless, fresh-smelling, and well-maintained. The bedding was comfortable, and the bathroom featured a smart dry-wet separation design with all essentials provided. I was especially impressed by the soundproofing—the room was so quiet at night that I slept like a baby. The breakfast spread was impressive, with a variety of options and delicious freshly made noodles. Overall, this hotel offers outstanding value for money. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I visit Chengdu and will recommend it to friends without hesitation.

Chengdu East Railway Station Greenland 468 Center Atour Hotel

I finally made it to Chengdu for an overnight stay—something I’d wanted to do ever since my previous visits in 2005 and 2018, when I only passed through without stopping. This time, during my extended trip from October 2nd to 13th, I was determined to spend at least one night here. My main goal? To visit the tomb of Guan Yu (Guan Yunchang), famously mentioned in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, located supposedly in eastern Chengdu. After arriving at Chengdu South Railway Station, I took a taxi straight there—but unfortunately, the site was closed due to major construction work. Still, I managed to take some photos from outside before heading to my hotel. The Atour Hotel at Chengdu East Railway Station turned out to be a delightful surprise. Located right near the train station, it’s incredibly convenient for getting around the city—just a short subway ride into downtown. The hotel itself is spotless, modern, and part of a fresh concept with thoughtful touches like a mini-fridge in the room. Staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Dinner featured a rich, comforting soup that stood out, and breakfast was excellent—plenty of choices, high quality. What truly added charm was the little tea house next door; I spent a relaxed evening sipping tea and chatting with locals, exchanging stories and laughs. Even the puzzle game by the elevator added a fun, unexpected moment while waiting. It’s rare to find a hotel that combines comfort, service, and personality so well. I spent a lot of time researching hotels near the area before my trip to Chengdu, and choosing this Yixuyuan Hotel was definitely one of the best decisions. If they ever upgrade the toilet seat with a heated electric option, it’d be perfect. Just a short walk from the subway station—super convenient for getting to Chunxi Road and Tianfu Square. The hotel’s location is perfect, and the moment you step in, you’re greeted with floor-to-ceiling windows offering great views of the street life. I was pleasantly surprised by the room quality—clean, modern, and even had a bathtub, which made it feel more like a boutique stay than a typical serviced apartment. Everything was spotless, down to the smallest detail. The staff were incredibly friendly too—the front desk lady was helpful and even offered luggage storage, which came in handy. Located right on the ground floor with countless dining options and a convenience store just steps away, we never had to go far for food or supplies. Plus, a shopping mall was within walking distance—perfect for a quick browse. The location is ideal if you're using public transit; the train station is close by, and getting around the city is super convenient. I wish I’d taken more photos of the room, but honestly, the pictures on the platform are completely accurate—the space is just as lovely in real life. And the view from the window? Absolutely stunning. This might be my favorite stay so far during our travels across China. If you're visiting Chengdu, don’t hesitate—this apartment deserves a spot on your list!

Yue Jing Homestay

Wow, this trip to Chengdu was absolutely incredible—I fell in love with Dongjiao Memory! So many delicious local eats everywhere, and the National Day celebrations were vibrant and full of energy. I honestly didn’t want to leave—almost cried from happiness! Staying at Yue Jing Homestay (Dongjiao Memory Branch) was a great choice—excellent value for money, spotless cleanliness, and attention to detail truly stood out. Even the bathroom heater was sparkling clean! Lying in bed, I could gaze out the window and enjoy the city skyline at night—so peaceful and scenic. The only minor downside? A few mosquitoes at night, but that’s a small trade-off for such a fantastic stay overall.

The room itself is modern and cozy, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a bright, open view that makes the space feel airy and inviting. High-speed Wi-Fi worked flawlessly, and the mini-kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, a fridge, and everything else you’d need to cook your own meals—perfect for saving money and enjoying home-style breakfasts. The staff were genuinely warm and helpful, answering all my questions patiently and even offering to carry my luggage, which made a big difference. What really stood out was the soundproofing—once the windows were closed, it was completely quiet, creating a peaceful retreat after a long day. The bedding was soft and comfortable, helping me sleep deeply without interruptions. Cleaning standards are top-notch too—daily housekeeping was thorough, and towels and bath sheets were visibly sanitized, giving me peace of mind.
