I've stayed at Forêt Guest House four times now, and even though the ownership has changed recently, the service has actually gotten better—really impressed! I love traveling solo, and this place makes it so comfortable and safe. I booked a four-person room but was staying alone, and it worked out perfectly—plenty of space, good privacy, and no worries at all. The only small thing is the pillows—they're too soft and low, so I ended up bringing my own pillowcase with a stuffed toy to prop myself up. But honestly, that’s just a tiny detail in an otherwise outstanding experience. The atmosphere, cleanliness, and staff kindness make it worth every penny. Definitely coming back again. Thanks for such a great stay!

Staying at Seoul Forest Stay Guesthouse was an absolute delight! The host was incredibly friendly and spoke fluent English, Korean, and even basic Chinese—making communication so easy. He personally showed me around the guesthouse with great care, explaining all the amenities and local tips. The single room is compact but spotlessly clean, with everything you’d need: toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a desk lamp, hairdryer, heater, air conditioning, and even toilet paper. Common areas provide towels for guests to use—very thoughtful. Located just steps away from Seoul Forest Park, it’s peaceful and quiet yet still super convenient for getting into downtown via subway. The value-for-money factor is outstanding. I’ll definitely be back!

So sweet! The location is fantastic—just a short walk from the subway station, making exploring Seoul super easy. With its charm, great service, and welcoming vibe, I’d absolutely stay here again. Every detail was thought of: kitchen essentials, clean linens, high-speed Wi-Fi, and even extra toiletries. I never had to worry about anything during my trip. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to the subway and minutes from Dongdaemun Market and Myeongdong’s shopping streets. It’s rare to find such comfort, convenience, and care all in one place. I’ll definitely be returning next time I visit Seoul. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and welcomed here. The hostel is tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood, yet surrounded by plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, and local eateries—perfect for daily needs. Every day at 11 AM, the host personally cleans the rooms, which really shows how much they care about hygiene and guest comfort. All photos are unedited and true to life. During my three-night stay, I met travelers from Japan, the U.S., and China—all respectful, friendly, and easy to get along with. The host is incredibly warm and engaging, fluent in English, Japanese, and Mandarin, making conversations smooth and natural. The space is clean, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed. For anyone traveling alone, especially women, this place offers peace of mind, great vibes, and excellent value. I’d definitely come back.

Dongdaemun Hotel
Staying at Dongdaemun Hotel was a great experience, especially thanks to the unbeatable location. Just steps from both Line 1 and Line 4 subway stations, getting around Seoul is super convenient—plus there are plenty of bus routes nearby, which I took more often than not. The hotel itself feels fresh and modern after recent renovations. One small downside: the bathtub has only about one-third glass enclosure, so water tends to splash out during use, which can be a bit messy. Also, the bathroom floor gets slippery easily when wet, so extra caution is needed. Water temperature in the shower fluctuates—sometimes too hot, sometimes too cold—so you’ll need to adjust frequently. On the bright side, there’s a power outlet right beside the bed, making charging devices super easy. Breakfast is simple but surprisingly generous: bread, cornflakes, milk, juice, instant noodles, and coffee—great variety for a basic spread. For airport transfers, I’d recommend taking the subway over the Airport Bus (Route 6002). The bus runs almost to its final stop and takes over an hour, followed by a 6–8 minute walk. The subway is faster and much more direct. Plus, the area is packed with restaurants, street food stalls, and fashion shopping spots—perfect for exploring on foot. Overall, excellent value and a very convenient base for any visit to Seoul.
OYO hostel Dongdaemun 1
Staying at OYO Hostel Dongdaemun 1 was a delightful experience. The location is incredibly convenient—nestled in a quiet alley just steps away from the subway entrance, making it easy to explore Seoul’s main attractions. The atmosphere throughout the hostel is warm and welcoming, especially on the 5th floor where breakfast is served with soft background music. The heating system works well during winter, keeping the rooms cozy and comfortable. While there are no disposable toiletries (like toothbrushes), they do provide towels, which is thoughtful. Be aware that there’s no elevator—so if you’re not up for climbing stairs, request a lower-floor room. Noise levels are decent; even though soundproofing isn’t perfect, there’s minimal disturbance at night. One of my favorite moments? Sipping coffee on the 5th floor during a snowfall, listening to music, chatting with friends, and watching the city turn white—it felt like a scene from a movie. The front desk staff speaks excellent English, but service hours are limited to 8 AM–10 PM. For other times, you’ll need to use alternative communication methods. Overall, this place offers great value, friendly vibes, and a unique charm. A solid choice for travelers looking for comfort and convenience in central Seoul.

The hotel is excellent overall—great location, super convenient for getting around Seoul, and the staff are very friendly. My only confusion was that I booked a two-night stay, but I had to check out on the second day and couldn’t recheck in until after 6 PM. That timing restriction felt a bit odd and wasn’t clearly explained upfront. Still, the team handled it well, and even though I had to move my luggage, it didn’t ruin the experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and the value for money was strong. Definitely would stay here again.

Checked in late at night, but the front desk staff were still very attentive and made the process super smooth. The team was friendly and even upgraded our room without any hassle—definitely a pleasant surprise. While it has a motel-like vibe with its compact layout, the attention to detail, cleanliness, and service quality make it feel much more premium. It’s definitely not your average budget stay—great value for the price, and I’d happily book again if I’m back in Seoul.

Just a 1-minute walk from Exit 8 of Dongdaemun History & Cultural Park, this hotel is perfect for shopping and exploring the area. The place was incredibly clean and well-maintained, giving a very welcoming vibe. The bathtub was spacious and so relaxing—perfect for unwinding after a long day of sightseeing. I’d definitely stay here again when visiting Seoul. Great value and comfort in one!
