From the upper floors, the city skyline view at night was stunning. The bed was incredibly soft, the free Wi-Fi stayed strong throughout my trip, and all toiletries were thoughtfully provided. Breakfast was a highlight—huge variety including local favorites like coconut rice, fresh pastries, hot breakfast items, and Western dishes. My stay at Hotel Grand Mutiara was extremely disappointing. The front desk staff greeted me in a very rude and dismissive manner, even demanding payment for a tax I had already paid through the booking platform—this was completely unjustified. The bathroom was faulty, with constant leaks making it unusable. There was no housekeeping service at all, no working TV in the room, and absolutely no breakfast included. For a hotel charging what they do, these are basic expectations that should be met. Unfortunately, none of them were. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, maybe it's barely acceptable, but if you want comfort, cleanliness, and proper service, this hotel falls far short. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone seeking a decent experience in Kuala Lumpur.
