The stay at this property had a few bright spots but also some serious drawbacks. The saltwater pool was a real highlight—refreshing and well-maintained, perfect for unwinding after a long day. Room sizes were just right, the fans worked extremely well, and surprisingly, the beds were very comfortable, making for a good night’s sleep. Free parking on-site was a nice bonus, especially if you're traveling by car. However, the biggest issue was the lack of basic supplies in the apartment—no sponges, cleaning cloths, dish soap, kitchen paper, napkins, hand soap, salt, sugar, or even a mop. You’re basically expected to run to the supermarket to buy essentials just to cook a simple meal or do basic cleaning, even if you’re only staying for a few days. That’s incredibly inconvenient and frustrating. To make matters worse, there are no windows—only sliding doors—so proper ventilation is impossible. The air stays stuffy and humid, especially during warmer weather, which really affects comfort. While the pool and bed were decent, the overall experience is heavily impacted by these fundamental oversights. It's hard to recommend when such basic needs aren’t met.
My partner and I stayed at the Luz Ocean Club Apartments, and it was absolutely perfect! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—so polite and helpful throughout our entire visit. The location couldn’t be better: just a short walk from the beach, with plenty of great restaurants and bars nearby. We also loved that major supermarkets like Baptista and Spar were right around the corner—super convenient for grabbing essentials. I’ve seen some fun comments online about the 'Madeleine abduction' mystery—everyone knows who’s behind that little prank! It added such a lighthearted, memorable twist to our trip. Overall, this place is a gem—great value, warm hospitality, and unbeatable seaside charm. Definitely coming back!
Staying at Carvi Beach Hotel was an absolute delight! The place is spotless and quiet, creating a perfect retreat. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive—always ready to help with anything. Breakfast was a real highlight: a wide variety of options, both local and international, so there was something for everyone. Best of all? The hotel is literally steps from the beach. Waking up to ocean views and taking a morning stroll along the shore was pure bliss. It’s also super convenient for exploring nearby attractions—everything is within easy reach by car or taxi. The shuttle service to and from the bus station made travel hassle-free. This is one of those rare stays where everything exceeded expectations. I’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lagos.
Staying at Oasis Beach Apartments was such a peaceful and welcoming experience—perfect if you're looking to unwind. The apartment itself is cozy and bright, with a private balcony offering stunning views of the sea. Every morning felt like a little getaway just by stepping outside. It's only a 200-meter walk to Praia da Luz, so you can easily enjoy the beach without needing to travel far. The staff, especially Andrea at reception, went above and beyond—she greeted us warmly, gave clear directions about the area, and shared helpful tips on local spots. The location, comfort, and attention to detail made this stay truly special. I’d definitely return and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing coastal escape.
Our stay at Palm Villa Estudios in Lagos was a pleasant surprise. The studio for two of us met all expectations—quiet location just a 10-minute walk from the old town, perfect for exploring without the hassle of traffic or crowds. The staff were consistently helpful and respectful, never intrusive, with daily room cleaning that felt almost magical. No need to fight for a sunbed by the pool—despite most rooms being occupied, the atmosphere remained calm and peaceful. Honestly, we found ourselves too busy discovering what Lagos has to offer to spend the whole day lounging by the water. We requested a front-facing upper room (Room 7), and they happily accommodated us—great attention to detail. The kitchenette had everything we needed for quick breakfasts and light snacks. One minor note: only one easily accessible power outlet, but we managed fine with our devices. No air conditioning, but ceiling fans were provided and worked well. After reading past reviews, we brought extra hangers and borrowed beach towels from the property—smart move that saved space in our luggage. This is an older-style villa with authentic charm; furnishings match the character, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. We arrived about an hour late due to travel delays, but they reached out proactively when we didn’t check in on time and met us within 10 minutes of our arrival—even outside regular hours. That kind of care made a big difference. Overall, zero complaints. If anything, I’d return in a heartbeat. Room tip: The shower cubicle is compact but efficient—perfect for average-sized guests, though might feel tight for those with larger builds.
Staying at Lagos Marina Guest House with Filipe was an absolute highlight of our trip. From the moment we arrived, Filipe and his wife went above and beyond to make us feel welcome—warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The hostel is far more comfortable than most you’d expect from a budget-friendly stay: clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with a stove, microwave, toaster, and even an espresso maker—perfect for preparing meals or enjoying a morning coffee with a view. Everything is cleaned daily, which makes the space feel fresh and inviting. We were also happy to use the shared washing machine, which was a big plus for longer stays. Outside, there’s a spacious covered terrace with loungers and large tables—ideal for relaxing, dining al fresco, or just soaking in the sea breeze. It’s just a 15-20 minute walk to the beach, and both the train station and marina are less than 15 minutes away on foot. Bus line 2 stops just a 7-minute walk from the property, making it easy to explore Lagos without needing a car. We also booked kiteboarding lessons through Filipe, and they were fantastic. Transport was included, prices were fair, and the instruction was top-notch. As a complete beginner, I appreciated how cautious he was—he never charged upfront. Instead, he personally took us to the lagoon spot to assess wind conditions first, only proceeding if it was safe and suitable. That level of care and transparency really stood out. Overall, we felt completely at ease throughout our stay. This isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s a welcoming home base with incredible hospitality and local expertise. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
This was easily the largest and most spacious hotel I've stayed at in Portugal, and it truly lives up to its reputation. The resort is well-equipped with top-notch amenities throughout—rooms are luxurious, clean, and thoughtfully designed. Staff go above and beyond with warm, genuine hospitality that makes you feel welcome from day one. Parking is completely free and super convenient, which is a big plus for those traveling by car. Right outside the main entrance, there's a direct walking path to the scenic cliffside viewpoint—just a short stroll to enjoy breathtaking coastal views. The dining experience stands out as exceptional; breakfast offers a wide variety of fresh, local options, while dinner features creative, high-quality dishes crafted with care. Everything about this place feels premium without being overpriced. It’s an outstanding value for the quality and comfort offered. If you're looking for a relaxing, well-located retreat with excellent service and scenery, this resort is absolutely worth every penny. I’d happily return.
Staying at Boavista Golf & Spa was an absolute delight. The property is beautifully set in a peaceful, scenic area with stunning views of the surrounding nature—perfect for unwinding. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable, making it ideal for both couples and families. The breakfast spread is fantastic—plenty of fresh options, including local treats, and everything tastes great. One thing to note: the location isn’t always easy to find via GPS, so it’s helpful to double-check directions or contact the hotel if you’re unsure. But once you arrive, it’s totally worth it. The nearby attractions—beaches, hiking trails, and charming villages—are just breathtaking. We highly recommend this resort for anyone looking to explore Lagos by car. It’s not just about the stay—it’s the whole experience. I’d definitely come back here on any future trip to the Algarve.
The hotel exceeded all expectations and truly lives up to its high standard. What stood out the most was the exceptional service—every concern or question we had was addressed instantly and with genuine care. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and stress-free. From check-in to checkout, every interaction felt personal and attentive. Located just steps away from great restaurants and local attractions, it's also easily accessible by public transport. Overall, this is a top-tier experience with outstanding value. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Staying at Casa Mãe Lagos was nothing short of magical. Located right in the heart of Lagos’ historic center, it’s just a few steps from the beach and incredibly easy to get around—perfect for exploring this beautiful part of the Algarve. The property itself is a serene oasis, with a stunning blend of modern design and local charm, featuring soft blue and white tones that create a calming, inviting atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished with thoughtful details, and offer a peaceful retreat after a day of sightseeing. I especially loved the multiple pools and the tranquil spa area—ideal for unwinding and recharging. The food was exceptional: fresh, creative, and made with ingredients straight from the estate’s own garden. Every meal felt like a little celebration. The staff went above and beyond—warm, attentive, and always ready to help with personalized recommendations for local experiences. From sunset walks to hidden coves and authentic dining spots, they made my trip unforgettable. This isn’t just a hotel—it’s a true sanctuary where luxury meets effortless relaxation. A must-visit for anyone looking for an authentic, memorable getaway.
Vila Valverde Design Country Hotel is an absolute gem nestled in a serene, five-star setting. The staff couldn’t be more welcoming—always smiling, attentive, and genuinely helpful. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, with stunning views that make every moment feel like a retreat. I especially loved the dining experience—the lunch and dinner were both exceptional, featuring fresh, local ingredients prepared with care and creativity. It’s clear this small-scale hotel puts heart into everything. For us, it earned a perfect 10 out of 10. A truly unforgettable stay, and one we’d happily recommend to anyone looking for comfort, charm, and authentic hospitality.
Staying at Belmar Spa & Beach Resort was an absolutely delightful experience. The property is spacious and well-maintained, with a clean, relaxing atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The pool water was exceptionally clear and pristine—so refreshing to swim in, knowing it’s regularly kept spotless. Every detail felt thoughtfully designed for comfort and tranquility. It's rare to find such a peaceful retreat with such high standards, and we couldn’t be happier with our stay. Highly recommend this gem if you're looking for a serene beachside escape in Lagos, Portugal.
