The honesty bar where we could help ourselves to drinks—such a warm, welcoming gesture that really captured the heart of the place. Breakfast was outstanding: a delicious mix of classic Italian pastries, fresh bread, cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, muesli, yogurt, and even freshly made scrambled eggs and pancakes on request. The desserts were so good we almost didn’t leave room for dinner! Honestly, I’m not sure how many pounds I gained—but it was worth every bite. If we ever return to Rome, there’s no question: we’ll be booking Villa Duse again without hesitation.
