Absolutely outstanding—every single aspect of this stay was flawless. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The hotel’s ambiance is elegant yet warm, nestled in a peaceful neighborhood just steps away from local charm and public transit. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed with modern comforts and cozy touches—especially the bed, which offered perfect support for a restful night. Every detail, from the thoughtful amenities to the quiet atmosphere, made it feel like a true retreat. We’ve already started planning our next visit—this isn’t just a hotel, it’s a destination worth returning to. Highly recommended for travelers seeking authenticity, quality, and a touch of luxury.
Located right near the dock, this hotel is a bit off the beaten path with limited dining options nearby, but it's still conveniently within the city center. Getting around by taxi is super easy—just a short ride to most attractions. What made our stay extra special was catching a Chinese senior tour group during our visit; the lobby was buzzing with energy and lively chatter, adding a unique cultural vibe. Despite the quiet surroundings, the hotel offers excellent service, modern amenities, and great value for money. If you're looking for convenience, comfort, and a touch of local charm, this place is definitely worth considering.
Staying at Novotel RJ Santos Dumont in Rio de Janeiro was a fantastic experience. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with modern amenities—perfect for a comfortable stay. I especially appreciated having meals available on-site, which saved me time and hassle when exploring the city. The location is great too—just a short metro ride from downtown, making it easy to get around and visit key attractions. Everything about this hotel felt convenient and well thought out. With excellent service, a welcoming atmosphere, and great value, I’d definitely recommend it to fellow travelers visiting Rio. A top choice for a stress-free trip!
I no longer live in Rio, I'm based in Portugal now, but every time I fly into the city via Santos Dumont Airport, this hotel is always my top choice. It's incredibly convenient—just a short walk from the airport, with a clean, comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff. The location makes getting around easy, and the value for money is excellent. Even though I'm not living here anymore, it still feels like home whenever I return to Rio.
Staying at Ibis Rio Porto Atlantico was a fantastic choice, especially given its close proximity to GIG Rio de Janeiro International Airport. Located in a well-planned new district, the area boasts wide, clean streets and a notably safer atmosphere compared to other parts of the city. Public transport is convenient—taking trams 1 and 4 to connect with the metro makes it easy to reach major tourist attractions without hassle. What really stood out was that room rates didn’t increase during Carnival season, which is incredibly fair and refreshing. The only minor downside is the lack of nearby restaurants—there’s just one large supermarket within walking distance, so dining options require a short trip. Still, the excellent location, reliable transport links, and great value make this hotel a top recommendation for travelers who prioritize convenience and peace of mind.
The hotel delivers strong overall performance with a convenient metro stop nearby, even though it's a bit of a walk from the city center. The front desk team is efficient and professional, but some of the younger staff—especially in restaurant service—can be inconsistent. As a regular guest, I must mention one particular employee who fell short of Mama Shelter’s standards: a French girl handling breakfast service in the mornings. She was aggressive, unaccommodating, and clearly not suited for hospitality work. Her attitude negatively affected both her own service and that of her colleagues, including Dimitry, who consistently delivers excellent breakfast service with warmth and professionalism. It’s disappointing to see such a gap in staff quality. Hopefully, management can address this to maintain the brand’s high expectations.
I stayed here for the second time and I can confidently say it’s one of the best budget-friendly options in Rio. The location is perfect—right in the heart of the city, just a short walk from major attractions and public transit. The room was clean, well-maintained, and surprisingly spacious for the price. Everything felt fresh and hygienic, which is always a plus when traveling. Breakfast was excellent—hot, tasty, and with a great variety of options, including fresh fruit, pastries, and strong coffee. It made starting the day so much better. I’ve already recommended this hotel to friends and will definitely be back. A fantastic value stay in a vibrant part of Rio.
As a local resident of the charming Santa Teresa neighborhood, I can truly say Vila Santa Teresa is a peaceful retreat right in the heart of Rio's bustling city life. From the moment I arrived, the entire team made me feel right at home—warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. A special thanks to Caio, the morning waiter, and manager Raphael, who went above and beyond with their kindness and professionalism. The ambiance is serene, the service exceptional, and the location is perfect for exploring the city. This isn’t just a hotel—it’s a little haven. I’ll definitely be back.
Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish! The hotel is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. From the moment we arrived, we felt like cherished guests—every staff member went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The owners truly care about your well-being and happiness, and they succeed in every detail. Breakfast was a highlight: beautifully presented, generous portions, and deliciously fresh. If you're looking for a special dinner in-house, the menu is small but thoughtfully curated—each dish was exquisite. We loved the intimate, boutique vibe and the genuine warmth of the team. Perfect for a relaxing getaway with a touch of luxury. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable stay in Rio.
This place is the perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle. I'm a local, and after weeks of nonstop routine, I just needed to disconnect—and this stay delivered exactly that. The historic mansion is full of charming details and cultural touches, yet it seamlessly blends with modern comforts. The room is spacious, airy, and impeccably equipped—everything worked flawlessly. The linens were soft, fresh, and smelled wonderful. Breakfast was exceptional: delicious, varied, and thoughtfully prepared. I left feeling completely recharged. I’ll definitely be back—this time with my whole family. A truly unforgettable experience.
Warm welcome from Walter upon arrival and Daniel was equally attentive during breakfast. The rooms are beautifully designed with high ceilings and Italian-style showers—plus, one spacious room in a separate building comes with an even larger shower area, perfect for relaxing. Breakfast was exceptional: fresh juices, homemade pastries, and freshly baked bread—all made on-site and delicious. The location is wonderfully quiet and peaceful, yet just steps away from the charming cafes and lively restaurants of Santa Teresa, which come alive both day and night. This neighborhood alone makes the trip worthwhile. Villa Laurinda truly stands out as a unique gem in Rio de Janeiro—a place that feels special from the moment you arrive, and one I’d happily return to again.
Check-in was a bit delayed—expected at 12:30, but they only confirmed room readiness around 1:20 PM. Still, the experience overall was positive. The hotel’s location is unbeatable, directly connected to the airport, making transfers and early flights super convenient. That said, the front desk is tucked away at the back of the lobby, so you’ll need to walk a bit through the spacious corridors. The rooms and hallways had a faint cleaning smell—likely from recent sanitization—but nothing overwhelming. The rooftop view is definitely worth it, especially P1 and P2 areas. It gets busy, but the panoramic sight of the airport and city skyline, especially during sunset, is spectacular. Perfect for a quick break or just soaking in the atmosphere. Overall, great value, excellent access, and a solid choice if you're flying in or out of Rio.
