Marriott Hotel Budapest Olympic Park is a top choice, just a 5-minute walk from the main stadium. It features an indoor pool, modern rooms, and free shuttle service to downtown, making it ideal for visiting landmarks like Buda Castle and the Danube River.

Another excellent option is Athena Hotel, located adjacent to the park with a blend of Hungarian traditional architecture and contemporary design. The on-site restaurant serves authentic dishes such as goulash soup and jam-filled pastries. Guests can also rent bicycles to explore nearby trails, including the urban forest paths and Budapest Aquatic Center.

Take the Line 14 Metro (M1) from Olympic Park to Budapest Keleti Railway Station, taking about 20 minutes and costing only 350 HUF. Alternatively, catch bus N27 directly to Andrássy Avenue, passing landmarks like the National Theatre and Heroes' Square.

For a more comfortable journey, book a taxi or use the Budapest City Bike system to ride along the Danube River, enjoying scenic views of the Chain Bridge and Buda Castle. Use the BKK App for real-time schedules to ensure smooth transit.

The park also offers electric shuttle buses every 30 minutes connecting major attractions and parking areas—ideal for families traveling with children.

Beyond sports, the Olympic Park offers diverse outdoor activities. In summer, take canoeing lessons on the Danube River, starting from the park’s dock with certified instructors. The complex features an indoor thermal spa with hydrotherapy pools and steam rooms, perfect for relaxation.

During winter, enjoy ice hockey exhibitions and the Christmas Market, selling handmade Hungarian embroidery, honey wine (Epernye), and paprika cookies (Paprikás kifli). The annual Budapest Marathon in September passes through the park, drawing global runners and vibrant local crowds.

For kids, the Children’s Sports Camp offers football, basketball, and rock climbing classes taught by professional coaches—fun and educational in one.

Just a 15-minute drive away, Buda Castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering panoramic views of the Danube River. Inside, the Budapest History Museum displays medieval royal artifacts, with a skywalk leading to the Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

Another highlight is the Széchenyi Chain Bridge, spanning the Danube and linking Buda with Pest. Illuminated at night, it’s a favorite photo spot. Nearby are the Statue of Freedom and Heroes’ Square, easily accessible via the Budapest Metro for a full-day tour.

Also close by, Aquaworld Budapest Water Park features indoor and outdoor pools, water slides, and a kids’ play zone—open year-round. Many nearby hotels offer discounted ticket packages, enhancing value for families.

City Center Rooms

The owner of this property is absolutely unacceptable—abusive, unprofessional, and completely lacking in integrity. I booked a two-night stay at Cuki Apartment in Budapest for July 19–21, 2024, paying €180 upfront with a non-refundable policy. I assumed the booking was secure after payment confirmation and didn’t think twice about it—until November 14th, when I received an email from Booking asking if I found managing my reservation easy. That’s when I realized something was wrong. I checked the booking and nearly passed out: the host had changed my dates from July 19–21 to July 29–31 without my knowledge or consent. Clearly, they were trying to charge me double by forcing a cancellation. I reported it immediately. By 1 PM, I got a message saying Booking apologized and restored my original dates. Less than five minutes later, the host changed them again! I reported once more, and by 3 PM, I received another apology and a reversal to the correct dates. But then came the shock—the system now showed a pending payment of 77 lei, claiming I’d “changed the reservation,” and warned that failure to pay by November 16 would result in cancellation. I complained again, demanding removal of this false charge. On November 15th, I got a reply that made no sense—I was told there was a policy error: the minimum stay was actually five nights, so I could only keep the reservation if I extended by three additional nights. I was furious. I pointed out that I never asked for this, and that the issue wasn’t the extension—it was the fake 77-lei fee. Still, the host kept pushing me to cancel. When I refused, they changed my dates again—this time to August 5–7, 2024. What’s most disturbing? The platform did nothing to stop or penalize the host despite repeated violations. They continued manipulating my booking with zero accountability. At that point, I gave up. I couldn’t risk arriving in Budapest only to find the door locked because of their antics. This experience has left me deeply frustrated. I expect full refund—not just a vague promise of “difference” within 7–14 days. The lack of oversight and protection for guests is alarming. If platforms allow such behavior, travelers will lose trust entirely. This is not just poor service—it’s abuse. I strongly advise anyone to avoid this property and its owner at all costs.

Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest

The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The bathroom and shower are separated, and there's even a bathtub—perfect for relaxing after a long day. The shower has a powerful button-operated system, and the hairdryer is a high-quality German brand, which made a big difference. The room itself is spacious and incredibly comfortable, with a bed and pillows that made for an excellent night's sleep. Even during the scorching summer heat, the staff kindly brought ice to my room and provided two free chilled bottled waters—such a thoughtful touch. The front desk concierge spoke flawless English, clearly and patiently, making communication easy even with my limited vocabulary. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable—right next to the airport bus stop, with subway and bus stops all nearby, so getting around Budapest is super convenient. Plus, it’s much quieter than other hotels with fewer Japanese or Asian guests, giving a more serene atmosphere. This place truly stands out—it’s not just luxury, it’s thoughtfulness at its best. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Al Habtoor Palace Budapest

Arrived in Budapest at 8 PM and reached the hotel by 9:30 AM—planning to just store our luggage, but the front desk was incredibly helpful. They rushed housekeeping to clean the room, and we were checked in within just five minutes! That kind of hospitality really sets the tone for the stay. The toiletries are from Diptyque—same quality as those found in Mandarin Oriental, which is a real treat. Breakfast was excellent for a Central European hotel—plenty of fresh options, great pastries, and local flavors that stood out. The spa area is fantastic: relaxing baths and soothing treatments made it easy to unwind after a long journey. The fitness center is basic, which is the only minor downside, but overall, the experience was exceptional. This place delivers on luxury, comfort, and service. A must-stay if you're visiting Budapest.

Corinthia Budapest

I’ve been wanting to stay at the Corinthia Budapest for years, mainly because of its legendary reputation. The hotel lives up to its fame with stunning architecture and elegant interiors that truly capture the grandeur of a historic European landmark. The lobby and room design are both sophisticated and well thought out—everything feels timeless and luxurious. That said, check-in took longer than expected, and I was repeatedly interrupted by knocks on the door during the process, which was a bit frustrating. While the service didn’t stand out as exceptional, it wasn’t poor either. The location is excellent—just a short walk or a quick metro ride from the city center, making it super convenient. Overall, despite minor hiccups, the experience was memorable and worth every penny. Definitely planning to return.
