I can't say enough good things about Ten Bompas Hotel. After growing skeptical of the boutique hotel label—often meaning overpromised, overpriced, and underdelivered—I was pleasantly surprised to find that Ten Bompas is the real deal. As one of South Africa’s original boutique properties, it truly lives up to its reputation. The staff throughout the property were exceptional—from front desk to housekeeping. We arrived after a long trip through Namibia with a huge load of laundry, and I was shocked to discover that laundry service was included at no extra cost. Kudos to the housekeeper who handled everything so efficiently—she absolutely earned her tip! Every team member embodies what hospitality should be: warm, thoughtful, and genuine. I especially want to highlight General Manager Sean for his outstanding leadership and personal touch. But honestly, every single person we interacted with made us feel welcome. The food was another highlight—the chicken was hands-down the best I’ve had in South Africa. And yes, the fireplace is wood-burning—a rare and delightful touch these days. If you get the chance to stay here, don’t hesitate. It’s a true gem, and worth every penny.

The owners and staff are incredibly warm and helpful, going out of their way to make sure we felt welcome before and during our visit. We left feeling refreshed and truly relaxed. We stayed in the Cliffside room: spacious, elegant, with a gorgeous bathroom, private terrace, and garden overlooking the cliff. We even climbed up to the top for breathtaking panoramic views—absolutely unforgettable. The main pool area, with its incredibly comfortable loungers, wrapped up the experience perfectly.
