The front desk staff and housekeeping team were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the stay feel warm and welcoming. As a long-standing five-star property, the facilities are top-notch and well-maintained. Location-wise, it’s absolutely perfect—just steps from the old town, with easy access to the ancient city wall and the bustling Muslim Quarter. Walking to local street food spots is a breeze, and the metro station right outside means commuting to work is fast and hassle-free without needing a taxi. I especially loved the ground-floor coffee—it’s way better than any takeaway I’ve had lately. There’s also a great selection of authentic local eats nearby, giving the area a real local vibe. Staying at Grand Mercure Xian Renmin Square was such a memorable experience—this place holds deep sentimental value for many locals in Xi'an. I lived here in the 70s and early 80s, and every time I passed by that iconic main building (now part of Sofitel Legend), it brought back so many memories. This recent four-night stay at the hotel was absolutely fantastic. On sunny days, I loved walking around the quiet courtyard—it’s peaceful and full of charm. The staff were incredibly attentive: someone guided me to park, and others helped with luggage without being asked. Breakfast was generous and delicious, with great variety. Just steps away is Xincheng Square—perfect for a morning stroll among the friendly pigeons. In about 15 minutes on foot, you can reach Muslim Quarter (Beiyuanmen) and even walk straight to Bell Tower. There’s also a small museum inside the Sofitel Legend building that shares the rich history of the original Renmin Building, including photos of famous visitors over the years. It’s like staying in a living piece of history. With its unbeatable location, warm hospitality, and unique heritage vibe, this hotel offers amazing value. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Xi'an.

Since my child needed a nap, we relaxed in the lobby for a bit—once we saw someone else check in, we jumped on the chance to get settled. This is a well-established five-star property, yet it offers incredible value for money. The room was spacious and had a bathtub, which was a big plus. Elevator access requires a key card, so privacy and security are top-notch. While the room isn’t brand new, all essential amenities were present and in good working order—no complaints there. It’s just a 10-15 minute walk to the Bell Tower, placing us right in the heart of the city’s main tourist area. The Dachashi Metro Station is only a few minutes away on foot, and there’s also a bus stop right outside—though the bus frequency could be better. Still, the location is unbeatable for exploring the Muslim Quarter and surrounding attractions. Great convenience, great vibe, and fantastic value. Definitely recommend for travelers looking for comfort and accessibility in central Xi’an.

She never fails to recommend local favorites, like the authentic sour pork noodles, spicy tangy soup noodles, and the famous three-color cold skin noodles—every meal has been a delight. Located right next to Shajinqiao Metro Station, getting around the city is incredibly convenient, and the free parking is a real bonus for those driving. The hotel’s Chinese restaurant serves up delicious, authentic dishes that make every meal feel special.
