This place is a complete disappointment and I absolutely cannot recommend it. The Wi-Fi was completely non-functional—basically unusable for anything. When I mentioned to the front desk that the toilet had no seat, their response was literally to wrap toilet paper around the rim. That’s not a solution—it’s absurd. They do offer parking, but accessing it requires honking at the gate. When I asked if this would disturb other guests, the staff simply replied, 'No, this is a guesthouse.' I couldn’t see the logic in that at all. The noise from neighboring rooms was unbearable—felt like someone was drumming right next door all night long. There were no trash bins provided anywhere in the room, which made basic hygiene nearly impossible. And the worst part? No hot water in the shower. After sleeping on sheets with questionable cleanliness, a warm shower was the least I expected—but there was none. To make matters worse, the harsh chemical cleaners used left strong fumes that hadn’t dissipated. The smell irritated my throat and lungs so much that I ended up sleeping on the couch with the window wide open. Overall, the experience was terrible—poor maintenance, unprofessional staff, and zero comfort. Definitely not worth the price. I wouldn’t stay here again for any reason.

We stayed at Aloha Lodge for six nights, right between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and absolutely loved every moment. From the very beginning, we connected with Annette, the owner, and by the time we arrived, it felt like visiting dear friends — warm, welcoming, and completely relaxed. We shared meals together, grilled outdoors, attended an open-air movie screening, and joined a live concert for New Year’s Eve — all thoughtfully organized by Annette, who was always present and involved. The other guests were friendly and harmonious, creating a truly special vibe. We booked a small garden cottage with an en-suite bathroom and a tiny kitchenette. Our private terrace was perfect for quiet moments, but we also enjoyed the shared spaces, including the large outdoor dining area and the inviting poolside zone. It was easy to choose whether to be alone or mingle with others. The cottage itself was cozy and well-appointed, with comfortable beds and daily cleaning — we slept really well. Located in a peaceful side street in Milnerton, the lodge is ideally situated: close to Cape Town’s city center and just minutes from Sunset Beach and Bloubergstrand. There are great restaurants nearby, plenty of supermarkets, and even a lovely German bakery. Our car was safely parked on-site throughout our stay. If we ever return to Cape Town, this will be our first choice again. The laid-back, heartfelt atmosphere, combined with unbeatable value, made this experience unforgettable. Thank you, Annette, for such a wonderful stay in our favorite city!

Staying at Lagoon Beach Hotel & Spa was a truly memorable experience. The view from the room is absolutely stunning—every morning I woke up to the endless ocean vista, and the sunsets were nothing short of magical. The room itself was clean and well-maintained, though the mattress could feel a bit soft for heavier guests. A few outlets didn’t work properly in my room, so it’s worth checking when you check in. One thing to note: the hotel doesn’t provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, or disposable slippers—pack your own essentials. Breakfast has improved since last year! While still not quite catering to every taste (especially for those craving Chinese flavors), there’s now more variety than before, with fresh local options. Overall, the breathtaking coastal setting makes this place unforgettable. It’s definitely a top choice if you’re looking for a peaceful retreat with nature at your doorstep. I’d absolutely recommend it—and I’ll be back.
