Located just steps away from the resort area, and with a free shuttle service to the Ocean Park, convenience was effortless. Every detail felt thoughtfully curated. Meinian 21° International Hotel (Changsha Central South University New Campus)

My stay at Meinian 21° International Hotel was overall excellent—great service, clean rooms, and a convenient location near the Changsha Central South University Metro Station. The front desk staff were friendly and professional, and they even provided complimentary breakfast, which was a nice touch. The lobby has a modern, upscale vibe, and public transport access is excellent—perfect for exploring the city or heading to campus. That said, there are a few areas that could use improvement, especially in the breakfast area. First, there was no background music, and the TV in the dining space was silent, making the atmosphere feel a bit cold and lifeless. Second, the room temperature in the breakfast hall seemed too low, and the staff’s attire didn’t quite match the expected standard of a mid-to-high-end chain hotel—felt a bit casual for the brand image. Lastly, the breakfast selection was limited, which made the dining area feel empty and lacking warmth. More variety and better ambiance would go a long way in enhancing the morning experience. Overall, it’s still a great choice, but small tweaks could make it truly outstanding.

Changsha April 3 Mountain View Terrace Homestay (Yuelushan Hunan University)

The room was immaculately clean—every corner felt fresh and well-maintained. The owner has great taste: the wooden details in the courtyard, vibrant bougainvillea blooming everywhere, and thoughtfully arranged potted plants created such a cozy, serene vibe. Loved the welcome fruit too—small touches that made the stay feel special. Location is fantastic—just a 10-minute walk to Hunan University, and right in the heart of a foodie’s paradise with endless street eats nearby. The metro station is super close, making it easy to get anywhere around the city. What really stood out was the owner’s warm hospitality—offered a free room upgrade during weekdays! Plus, the little dog at the property is absolutely adorable, always wagging its tail and eager for attention. It added so much charm to the experience. I can’t recommend this place enough—definitely my go-to choice for next time in Changsha.
