Staying at Lake Sight Design Hotel in Xiamen was an absolute delight from start to finish. The staff greeted us warmly and were incredibly polite, even when we arrived early after a long flight with jet lag. Our room was spotlessly clean, cozy, and very comfortable—perfect for unwinding after a busy day. We stayed for several nights, and every moment felt relaxing thanks to the quiet surroundings and excellent location. Everything was within easy reach, and I especially loved walking around Baituizhou Lake just downstairs—the views were stunning, especially at sunset. One of the little touches I truly appreciated? Free tea service in the room! It’s these thoughtful details that make a big difference. If you’re visiting Xiamen, this hotel should be at the top of your list. I’ll definitely be coming back.

We first visited Gulangyu 13 years ago and stayed at Yuanshazhou — now, bringing our daughter along for a family trip to Xiamen, we chose this villa again without hesitation. It was just as wonderful as we remembered. The room itself was spotless, well-equipped, and offered breathtaking sea views. The location is perfect — just a short walk from the pier yet peaceful and quiet, far from the city noise. We especially loved meeting the resident cat, Chunfu, who added such a warm, homely touch. Every staff member was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. From cleanliness to comfort, every detail exceeded expectations. This stay wasn’t just a place to sleep — it felt like coming home. If we ever return to Xiamen, there’s no doubt we’ll be back here. A truly special experience.

The check-in experience was amazing from the very beginning—staff reached out via WeChat before arrival, sent us directions, and even offered to meet us if we couldn’t find the place. When we arrived, the front desk staff immediately upgraded our room without hesitation. The space is huge, immaculately clean, and features a stunning oversized bathtub with a view straight down to the pool below. We spent nearly an hour swimming in the evening, then came back up for a long, relaxing soak in hot water—pure bliss. It felt like being completely disconnected from reality. Staff even helped carry our luggage and handed us a local food guide—perfect since I was just passing through to explore the street food scene around Baishi Market 😂. The room was spotless and super cozy, and its location is unbeatable—just a short walk from Baishi Market, making dining and shopping super convenient. My son said it’s the best value hotel he’s ever stayed at, especially for the price. And let’s not forget the adorable cat—it’s friendly, calm, and adds such a warm vibe to the whole place. While the parking is a bit far from the building and there's no elevator, it didn’t really bother us, especially since we were happy to walk a short distance. Located just steps away from Huangcuo Beach on the scenic coastline, it’s ideal for beach lovers. Public transport access is convenient too—easy to get around the city. Overall, an excellent stay with great value for money. Would definitely return.

Staying at Gulangyu Shiyi · Yishu Family Hotel was a delightful experience. Even though it's a bit of a walk from the pier, the moment we arrived, we were able to drop off our luggage right away—no need to carry bags around. The room was quiet and private, perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring the island. I was especially impressed by the excellent value for money—great comfort, clean space, and thoughtful touches throughout. It’s clear this place puts guest comfort first. Would absolutely recommend and come back again.

Hopeful Island Hotel

Travelling with both grandparents and kids? This was the perfect choice! Along the way, we found little convenience stores with bubble machines for the kids and warm tea for the elders—such a thoughtful touch. The family room had two spacious beds, and while there was no balcony, the large windows let in gorgeous morning light that streamed across the rooftops opposite. Not including breakfast actually worked out well—we could each grab something local: the kids loved the street-side oyster noodles, the grandparents enjoyed authentic Xiamen-style seafood rice, and I happily devoured a crispy tangyuan. We met back in the room, then headed to Huangcuo Beach at our own relaxed pace. It was exactly the kind of slow, unhurried trip that made everyone happy.

This place is an absolute gem! Located right on the bustling Zhongshan Road, it's just a short walk from countless restaurants and a vibrant street food scene. The ferry terminal is incredibly close—perfect for hopping over to Gulangyu Island or exploring nearby attractions without hassle. The staff at the front desk were incredibly warm and attentive, regularly checking in to see if we needed housekeeping services or any assistance. The entire property is spotless, with thoughtful design touches that make the space feel both modern and cozy. Every detail contributes to a comfortable, relaxing stay. I was genuinely impressed by the value for money—this is one of the best stays I've had in Xiamen. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting!

The room was clean, thoughtfully designed, and offered a peaceful retreat with a great balance of style and comfort. Easy access via public transit—just a short ride from the mainland—and everything you need on the island within walking distance. If you're visiting Gulangyu, this is hands-down one of the best places to stay. Highly recommended!

Fenghuangju Hotel (Gulangyu Sunlight Rock)

The rooftop courtyard is a highlight—on sunny days, it's the perfect spot to relax or take stunning photos; every shot feels like a postcard. The owner couldn’t have been more welcoming, offering warm hospitality and helpful local tips that made our trip even better. It’s rare to find a place where comfort, style, and personal service come together so seamlessly. I left feeling sad I couldn’t stay longer—and regret not capturing every corner in pictures. If you’re looking for a memorable, authentic stay in Xiamen, this is it.
