The private pool overlooking the ocean, plus the thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces and common areas, made it easy to unwind and disconnect from everyday life. Staff were attentive without being overbearing, ensuring everything flowed smoothly. This place isn’t just a hotel—it’s a destination for those seeking both relaxation and unforgettable moments. That’s why I decided to take a chance on Kore Tulum Retreat despite all the negative reviews online. Honestly, those one-star ratings feel completely unfair. The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. The location offered stunning sea views and a peaceful vibe—perfect for unwinding. I only had breakfast since I love exploring local spots, so I can’t speak much to the overall food quality. But the staff were excellent: as soon as I sat down, my coffee was poured. Once they noticed I tipped, I never had to wait in line for my omelets—haha! The real highlight was Victor, the front desk concierge. He looked like he stepped out of a Mexican soap opera and was consistently kind, helpful, and attentive. When I checked out with a late flight, he remembered I loved biking and let me keep my access bracelet until my shuttle arrived. That small gesture made a big difference. Yes, English-speaking staff were limited—something I experienced throughout Tulum—but it wasn’t unique to this property. If judged by strict AAA standards, this place might earn a 3–3.5 star rating, but most booking platforms would likely give it a solid 4. It’s not a Hyatt, but it delivers great value for what you get. Don’t let the one-star reviews scare you off—this is a genuinely nice stay if you’re looking for a calm, adults-only retreat with good service and a lovely ocean outlook.

Waking up to the sound of roosters and jungle birds was such a unique and peaceful experience. And don’t miss the fresh coffee available daily on the upper level—it’s the perfect way to start the day. It’s clear that attention to detail and guest comfort are top priorities here. If you’re looking for a tranquil, authentic getaway in Tulum, this is definitely the place to be.
Moots Tulum
Staying at Moots Tulum was an absolutely fantastic experience overall. The hotel location is perfect—close to the beach and surrounded by beautiful scenery, making it ideal for relaxation and exploration. Everything about the property was excellent: clean rooms, great staff, and a lovely atmosphere. The only minor note is that the gym could use a bit more attention in terms of maintenance, but it’s not a dealbreaker at all. That said, transportation in Tulum is a real challenge—taxis are outrageously expensive. Just one-way from the airport to the hotel cost $1,700, and round-trip would be even more. Moving around town is similarly pricey. We ended up using Uber, which was much more affordable. Renting a car for 5 days and 4 nights came to $4,600, which is steep, but still better than relying on taxis. If you're planning to explore the area, I’d definitely recommend booking a rental car or using ride-sharing apps in advance. Despite the transport headaches, the hotel itself is outstanding—highly recommend for anyone visiting Tulum.

From hidden beach spots to authentic local eateries, his recommendations were spot-on. The location is perfect—close to everything we wanted to see and do, and the convenience of public transit made getting around a breeze. This place offers incredible value for the quality and service. We can’t recommend it enough and are already planning our return visit!
