The Hari Hong Kong
I’ve passed by Wan Chai many times, and I can’t help but notice how striking the exterior of this hotel is—it looks fancy at first glance, but the value for money is genuinely impressive. The check-in process starts right on the second floor via elevator, and the lobby occupies an entire level: plush sofas, armchairs, table lamps, and curated artwork create a classic boutique vibe. It’s not just a reception area—it doubles as a spacious, relaxed social hub and a functional workspace, perfect for unwinding or getting some work done.
I stayed in the standard queen room (about 25 sqm), which was thoughtfully laid out with clear zoning. Two glass doors separate the wet and dry areas—this layout feels more like a high-end apartment than a typical hotel room, making it ideal for longer stays. The bathroom has generous space, so you’re never cramped when brushing your teeth or using the toilet. The bedroom is spacious enough for solo travelers, though two people might feel slightly snug.
As expected from Hong Kong hotels, space efficiency is masterfully executed. The mini-fridge and minibar are cleverly hidden within built-in cabinets—functional without compromising aesthetics. Bottled water comes in refillable glass containers, a nice eco-friendly touch. The TV supports screen mirroring, though there’s no built-in speaker system. Bedding is top-notch—extremely comfortable and inviting for a good night’s sleep. One small note: toothbrushes require an extra fee, which is common but worth mentioning.
The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the city, with excellent access to transit and nearby attractions. Noise insulation is surprisingly effective, so street sounds don’t carry into the room. The overall design is modern and minimalist, with solid materials and well-considered furniture. While the aesthetic leans more toward practicality than bold design flair, that’s not necessarily a bad thing—it makes the space feel lived-in and authentic.
All things considered, if I’m visiting Hong Kong again and want a no-brainer choice that delivers comfort, smart layout, and convenience, this hotel would be my go-to pick.
