The hotel has a traditional aesthetic in its interior design, but the facilities feel modern and well-maintained. I originally chose it just because it's directly across from Shanghai Conservatory of Music for convenience during exam season, but ended up loving every minute of my stay. Room 215 features a private bathroom with excellent water pressure — super comfortable. I even managed to take some artistic photos of my daughter that turned out beautifully. The location couldn’t be better—just a short walk from Huashan Hospital, Jing’an shopping district, and Nanjing West Road. Public transit access is super convenient, whether by metro or bus. The front desk staff, Summer and Priscina, were incredibly warm and welcoming—they even upgraded us to a business executive king room at no extra cost! The service here feels timeless, with that classic old-money elegance. Breakfast was abundant and delicious, offering a great start to the day. For business travelers, this is an ideal choice with outstanding value. Hotel Equatorial Shanghai is one of Shanghai’s original five-star hotels, dating back to the early days of reform and opening-up in the 1990s. It’s undergoing a major renovation this year, so we’re excited to see how refreshed it will look. I’ll definitely be booking again once the upgrades are complete.

It was my first Christmas here, and the festive dinner paired with live performances created such a magical atmosphere. The outdoor market added charm, though I didn’t win anything (still had fun!), but I’d love to see a small souvenir or gift included as a token of the stay. Overall, the experience exceeded expectations—luxurious, thoughtful, and unforgettable. Definitely planning to come back.

Even small details like the hairdryer, flooring, and seating had a refined, classic touch. Breakfast was simple but satisfying, and the short castle tour offered surprising insights and fun facts. I did have a slight disappointment with the terrace, but the front desk made up for it by giving me a little magnet as a thoughtful gift. Honestly, I couldn’t ask for more—this place strikes the perfect balance between heritage, comfort, and genuine hospitality. Would absolutely return.

Shanghai Xujiahui A.T.HOUSE Jia Di Hotel

Walking out of the metro station and turning the corner brings you right to the door—super convenient. The hotel is just steps away from Xujiahui Cathedral and Xujiahui Library, with luxury shopping hubs like Hongkong Plaza and Meiluo City nearby. If you're heading to Shanghai Stadium or Sports Arena for a concert, it's only one stop on the metro—or even easier, a short walk or bike ride away. This A.T.HOUSE property has that modern art vibe I love. The second-floor afternoon tea lounge and late-night dining spot are both stylish and inviting. The pastries are delicious, and the chicken soup wontons as well as the pork-filled dumplings are seriously satisfying. I was originally booked into a room type that wasn’t available yet, but the team kindly upgraded me to a Premium Suite—huge upgrade in space, view, and design. Everything felt thoughtfully curated. I ordered fresh fruit platters after my concert, and they arrived at my door in no time. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, and the service throughout was top-notch. Even at check-out, they handed me a lovely souvenir—a large record-shaped biscuit box that’s both cute and tasty. If there’s another concert in town, this will be my go-to hotel again.

From the moment I arrived, I could tell this place was special. The location is unbeatable—everything from the Bund to Nanjing Road and even Disneyland is just minutes away by subway or taxi. The French restaurant on the second floor is exceptional—elegant, delicious, and worth every penny, especially for a romantic dinner or a memorable celebration. Kevin from the concierge team went above and beyond, suggesting some amazing local Shanghainese eateries that were both authentic and affordable—definitely a highlight of the trip. Belle from the guest relations team gave us a warm, personalized tour of the hotel, sharing fascinating details about its design and amenities. It felt less like checking in and more like being welcomed into a home. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and every detail exuded sophistication. If you're looking for a luxurious yet genuinely welcoming stay in Shanghai, this is it—10/10, would book again in a heartbeat.
