Atlantis Copacabana Hotel
The location is perfect—right between Ipanema and Copacabana, making it easy to explore both areas on foot. I traveled solo and felt completely safe throughout my stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, which really made the experience feel personal. Breakfast was excellent—plenty of variety and great quality. The only downsides were a slightly outdated rooftop pool area with somewhat cloudy water, and ongoing construction on the 11th floor that caused loud hammering from 9 AM to 5 PM—something I could clearly hear from my 7th-floor room. It was a bit disruptive, but manageable. Also, breakfast was charged separately for the entire stay, and when I asked to have a snack packed for an early morning tour on my last day, they couldn’t accommodate it. While this wasn’t expected, it would’ve been a nice touch to stand out from other hotels. Still, despite these small hiccups, the overall experience was outstanding. I’d definitely come back without hesitation.

Staying at this Rio Spot Homes Varanda U049 unit was a real highlight of our trip to Rio de Janeiro. Just one block from Copacabana Beach, the location is unbeatable—walking distance to the sand and clear views of the ocean from the spacious balcony. The apartment is on the 9th floor of a secure high-rise building with on-site staff and metal key locks, giving peace of mind. Check-in is done via phone, WhatsApp, or email—we just notified them in advance and paid a 150 BRL cleaning fee plus a 40 EUR deposit upon arrival. The place is well-equipped for self-catering: there’s a decent-sized fridge, two induction burners, and plenty of cooking utensils, including two frying pans (though they do tend to stick). However, the dishware is limited—only four mugs and four shallow plates. Cleaning supplies are basic: a large bottle of dish soap and a small sponge. Bathroom amenities include one small bottle of shampoo and conditioner each, but no bar soap. One downside: the toilet faces an adjacent building, so we had to hang a towel across the window frame for privacy. The bedding can accommodate up to three guests, but we were warned about previous reports of bed bugs—definitely recommend bringing repellent. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you want a beachfront vibe without the premium price tag. Great value, great view, and super convenient for exploring the area.
