It’s a bit disappointing that it switched to doughnuts on the final day, though they were still tasty. My stay at Eungam Maple in Seoul was somewhat disappointing. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, but the main issue was that only Korean was spoken throughout the property—there was no English support, which made communication difficult for non-Korean speakers. The room itself was quite small, and there wasn’t enough space to even open up a suitcase comfortably. While the team was kind and attentive, the lack of multilingual service and cramped layout made the experience less than ideal. Given these drawbacks, I wouldn’t choose this hotel again, especially when there are other more traveler-friendly options available in the city.

I was a bit skeptical at first since the price seemed too good compared to nearby motels, but I'm so glad I gave it a try. The room itself was clean and cozy, with efficient air conditioning and underfloor heating—just tap the switch under the desk to warm up the space. Though there are no windows, the room comes equipped with a router that allows quick Wi-Fi setup via QR code. While the soundproofing isn’t perfect, it’s not a major issue given how well-located the property is. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful, though not available 24/7—just be prepared to enter using your own password after hours. There’s also luggage storage on the ground floor, which is a nice touch. The manager speaks excellent English, so communication is always smooth. Overall, this hotel offers unbeatable convenience and affordability in one of Seoul’s most vibrant areas—highly recommended for budget-conscious travelers who want a comfortable base close to everything.

The room is small but well-equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The location is fantastic—just a short walk to Hongdae’s vibrant streets, great cafes, and trendy shops. Public transportation is super convenient, making it easy to explore Seoul. Despite the compact size, the hostel offers excellent value for money. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
In Seoul Shinchon Goguma
Staying here for two nights gave me a mixed impression. The biggest plus was the convenient location near Shinchon Station—great for getting to Hongdae, though transferring took a bit of effort. Unfortunately, several issues stood out: the mattress was extremely firm and uncomfortable to sleep on; the TV couldn’t be adjusted in volume or channel, which was frustrating. I tried setting the heater to 27°C, but the remote showed 27 while the actual room temperature only reached 23°C—felt quite cold. The lighting was also very dim and had an orange tint, making it nearly impossible to do makeup properly. Also, even with a two-night booking, cleaning wasn’t done unless you left your key at the front desk—and towels weren’t changed either, so I had to go get them myself. While I understand this is more of a budget motel, the lack of basic comfort and service touches made the experience less than ideal. It’s okay for a quick overnight stay, but not something I’d recommend for a longer visit.
