I was a bit nervous about smoke smell in the room, so I specifically asked the front desk for a unit that had been vacant the previous night—perfect choice! The room was immaculate and completely free of any lingering odors. Spacious and thoughtfully designed, it even featured a little balcony where I enjoyed my morning coffee with a view. The breakfast blew me away: warm congee, freshly ground soy milk and coffee, a great selection of fresh fruits, savory stir-fries, steamed dishes, and homemade desserts—all delicious and well-presented. The oversized, cozy sofa was the cherry on top; I just wanted to stay put all day. Great location, friendly staff, and incredible value for money. This is definitely a place I’ll return to next time I’m in Chengdu.

Minyoun Rezen Hotel Chengdu

This stay was absolutely fantastic! The hotel’s location is perfect—just a short walk to Chengdu East Railway Station, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Grabbing a taxi was quick and easy, making travel in and out a breeze. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and efficient—check-in and check-out went smoothly, and they even offered to carry my luggage and gave helpful directions. The room was spotless, fresh-smelling, and well-maintained. The bedding was comfortable, and the bathroom featured a smart dry-wet separation design with all essentials provided. I was especially impressed by the soundproofing—the room was so quiet at night that I slept like a baby. I've stayed at this Atour Hotel near Sichuan University's Wangjiang Campus several times, and every visit has been excellent. The amenities are well thought out—high-speed Wi-Fi is rock-solid throughout the stay, perfect for streaming or working remotely without any lag. Breakfast is a real highlight: a great mix of Chinese and Western options, with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. I especially loved the homemade buns—so good they’re worth coming back for. The soundproofing in the rooms is outstanding; once the door closes, you’re completely cut off from outside noise, making it incredibly peaceful to rest. It’s also super convenient, just steps from the metro station, so getting around Chengdu is a breeze. This place nails comfort, location, and value—all in one. Definitely my go-to when visiting Chengdu.

Chengdu East Railway Station Greenland 468 Center Atour Hotel

I finally made it to Chengdu for an overnight stay—something I’d wanted to do ever since my previous visits in 2005 and 2018, when I only passed through without stopping. This time, during my extended trip from October 2nd to 13th, I was determined to spend at least one night here. My main goal? To visit the tomb of Guan Yu (Guan Yunchang), famously mentioned in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, located supposedly in eastern Chengdu. After arriving at Chengdu South Railway Station, I took a taxi straight there—but unfortunately, the site was closed due to major construction work. Still, I managed to take some photos from outside before heading to my hotel. The Atour Hotel at Chengdu East Railway Station turned out to be a delightful surprise. Located right near the train station, it’s incredibly convenient for getting around the city—just a short subway ride into downtown. The hotel itself is spotless, modern, and part of a fresh concept with thoughtful touches like a mini-fridge in the room. Staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Dinner featured a rich, comforting soup that stood out, and breakfast was excellent—plenty of choices, high quality. What truly added charm was the little tea house next door; I spent a relaxed evening sipping tea and chatting with locals, exchanging stories and laughs. Even the puzzle game by the elevator added a fun, unexpected moment while waiting. It’s rare to find a hotel that combines comfort, service, and personality so well. Parking was full upon arrival, but the hotel quickly arranged a spot at a nearby paid lot and processed the reimbursement super fast. The real highlight? The front desk staff. I arrived late at night, and the lady on duty was incredibly patient and helpful, going above and beyond to meet every request. Her warm hospitality made the whole experience unforgettable.
