If I could give more than 10 stars, I would have absolutely done it here—this place was truly exceptional! Nestled in a luxurious neighborhood, the area feels safe and peaceful, while the villa itself is beautifully appointed with tasteful decor and stunning artwork throughout. It’s the perfect retreat if you’re looking for tranquility, security, discreet hospitality, indulgent experiences, great food, and just a little movement—all without being far from attractions, thanks to affordable Uber rides. We had the best breakfasts of our entire three-week trip across South Africa (and 11 different stays!), plus memorable lunches and dinners featuring creative, standout dishes and surprisingly affordable wines. On our final day, we treated ourselves to a duo relaxation massage—perfectly arranged and utterly blissful. We stayed in the Cliffside room: spacious, elegant, with a gorgeous bathroom, private terrace, and garden overlooking the cliff. We even climbed up to the top for breathtaking panoramic views—absolutely unforgettable. The main pool area, with its incredibly comfortable loungers, wrapped up the experience perfectly. The staff are incredibly kind and professional, striking the ideal balance between boutique hotel charm and private villa freedom—so you can unwind without feeling isolated or confined. If we ever return to Johannesburg, this will be our first choice without hesitation.

The owners and staff are incredibly warm and helpful, going out of their way to make sure we felt welcome before and during our visit. We left feeling refreshed and truly relaxed. Without hesitation, we’ll be coming back next time we’re in Johannesburg.

From the moment I arrived, Gavin and Loui greeted me with genuine warmth—Gavin even helped carry my luggage, which made a great first impression. We stayed at the charming self-catering cottage on a peaceful estate, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The property is quiet, well-maintained, and offers a lovely garden with a refreshing pool—perfect for unwinding after a busy day. The hosts were warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We especially appreciated the delicious breakfast served before check-out—it was a thoughtful touch. Secure parking was available, which added to the peace of mind. The only minor suggestion would be upgrading the shower mixer tap and showerhead, as they could use a bit more modernization. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations—great location, excellent comfort, and a wonderful balance between privacy and hospitality. A truly memorable stay.

Absolutely fantastic value for money! For the price, this hostel delivers everything you'd want—clean, safe, and located in a prime spot just a short walk from Rosebank Mall. I stayed at Rosebank Lodge & Backpacker for six months, and while the first few months were a bit disorganized, things really improved in the final stretch thanks to the new manager—friendly, accommodating, and genuinely attentive. The staff, especially Bongani, Solomon, Nancy, Pretty, and Theo, went above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and supported. It’s not perfect, but that’s what makes it real. If you’re looking for a warm, welcoming place to reset and reconnect with yourself, this is it. The vibe is friendly, the location is convenient, and the sense of community is genuine. Definitely one of those hidden gems where you feel like you belong.

The stay was generally positive, with the highlight being the excellent swimming pool and beautifully maintained garden—clearly a result of dedicated care from the groundskeeper. It made the property feel peaceful and welcoming. That said, the kitchen could use some improvement—there were no drinking glasses at all, and cooking utensils were limited. Bringing your own glassware is a must. Despite this small drawback, the overall experience was solid, especially for the price. The location is convenient for exploring Johannesburg, and public transport access is straightforward. A great option if you're looking for a relaxed, clean hostel vibe with good outdoor spaces.

I stayed at Fernrez@363 Hostel during my time working around Sandton, and I must say it was a great choice. The location is super convenient—just a short walk from the city center and easy to reach via public transport. The hostel itself is quiet and peaceful, which made it perfect for relaxing after a long day at work. It's also very affordable, offering solid value for money without compromising on comfort. Khethiwe, the staff member I interacted with, was incredibly helpful and always went the extra mile to accommodate my needs. Knowing I could rely on them made my stay stress-free, especially when juggling a busy schedule. While the place isn’t flashy, it’s clean, well-maintained, and offers a welcoming atmosphere. If you're looking for a reliable, no-fuss base in Johannesburg with friendly service and good value, this is definitely worth considering.

Staying at The Pecan Tree Guesthouse was a delightful experience. The setting is absolutely peaceful and beautifully nestled in the hills—perfect for those seeking a quiet retreat. While it's located uphill, having a car makes access seamless. The breakfast was exceptional—fresh, well-prepared, and full of variety. The only minor downside was the pool's cleanliness, but since we were visiting in winter and didn’t use it, it wasn’t an issue. Overall, the ambiance, comfort, and attention to detail make this a standout choice. Highly recommend for a relaxing getaway in Johannesburg.
