Check-in was a bit stressful at first, but the on-duty manager handled everything with great empathy and professionalism. After a calm conversation, the issue was resolved smoothly—and they even surprised me with afternoon tea, evening entertainment, and a bottle of wine. The next day’s airport transfer was excellent too; driver Andy was friendly, courteous, and helped carry my luggage without being asked. We had a pleasant chat throughout the ride. A few suggestions for improvement: the afternoon tea selection was limited, and the fruit—especially the watermelon—wasn’t very fresh. Dinner options were also quite narrow. The room stayed chilly despite running the heater all night—temperature barely reached 15°C, so adding a heating option would be helpful. Also, breakfast was missing some items, and they weren’t replenished promptly. That said, the overall experience was still positive. The staff responded quickly to feedback, and the views from the room were stunning—especially sunrise in the morning. One small disappointment: no capsule or instant coffee available, which is common even in budget hotels. Adding that would make the stay much more convenient for guests who rely on coffee.

Despite being a slightly older five-star property, cleanliness was outstanding—so clean that we didn’t even need to unpack our own sheets or pillowcases. Our room was consistently tidy thanks to the amazing housekeeper, Ms. Ye Meilan, who went above and beyond with her attention to detail. The front desk staff, especially Miss Huang Jinhua, was incredibly helpful—we asked if she could print out our child’s homework, and she did it right away without hesitation. The whole hotel exudes that classic old-money elegance, with thoughtful touches everywhere—from the decor to the service. It’s clear they care about every guest experience. A truly memorable stay, highly recommended for families looking for comfort, charm, and genuine hospitality.

Le Méridien Xiamen

Staying at Le Méridien Xiamen during New Year's Day with my family was an absolutely unforgettable experience. The hotel is nestled on a hillside, easily accessible by taxi or public transit, and they provide complimentary shuttle service to the property—no worries about the climb at all. The setting is truly special: serene, fresh, and refreshingly different from the usual city vibe. It feels like a quiet retreat in the middle of nature, with breathtaking night lighting that adds such a magical touch—definitely reminiscent of a Beverly Hills estate but even more peaceful. The villa section offers excellent privacy; guests enter via shuttle and need a code to access the area, which gives a real sense of exclusivity. Room cleanliness was top-notch—the housekeeping staff were attentive and greeted us warmly upon arrival, and any requests were handled promptly and kindly. The lounge afternoon tea setup is stunning, and despite being fully booked during the holiday period and having limited staff, the team still managed to seat us comfortably and deliver coffee without delay—truly commendable effort under pressure. Breakfast was a highlight too, especially the pancake station where the server was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It’s clear the hotel values long-term employees—many have been with them for nearly a decade, reflecting a caring, stable work culture. A heartfelt thank you to the blue-uniformed lady with her ponytail at reception for her detailed briefing, the tall, smooth-voiced manager who quickly addressed our needs, the entire lounge team who worked hard despite tight staffing, and the glasses-wearing driver who brought us to the villa zone—he drove flawlessly and even gave us a mini tour while sharing fun facts about the area. We’ll definitely be back, especially when bringing elderly family members. This place delivers something genuinely special—a refreshing change of pace and a stay that feels both luxurious and deeply personal.

Xiamen Huli Yiho Hotel

This was my second stay at a property under the King & Prince brand, and it lived up to expectations once again. The location is excellent—easy access by subway or taxi, and free parking is a major plus for travelers driving in. The lobby offers complimentary tea and a welcome candy, small touches that make a big difference. The room was spacious and incredibly comfortable, with high-quality bedding that ensured a restful night’s sleep. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and the facilities are thoughtfully designed—especially great for business travelers. There's an on-site self-service gym, laundry room, and a cozy lounge area with freshly brewed coffee. Breakfast was abundant and delicious, and staff member Xiao Zou went above and beyond with warm, attentive service. Overall, this two-day stay was exceptional—well worth the visit and highly recommended.
