This is my third stay at Huagui Hotel (Guilin Station), and each visit has been even better than the last. Nestled within a serene botanical garden, the hotel offers a peaceful retreat right in the heart of the city—walking through the gardens feels like escaping into nature. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and free of any unpleasant odors, making it incredibly comfortable for a good night’s sleep. While finding parking can be a bit tricky since access is via a logistics park gate, the overall convenience and value make up for it. The staff, especially the friendly front desk attendant Xiao Jiang, went above and beyond with warm, attentive service. Whether you're here for a group getaway with friends, a romantic escape, or a family vacation, this place truly delivers. Every stay feels special, and I can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking for comfort, tranquility, and great value.

Fanxinli Guesthouse (Guilin Two Rivers and Four Lakes Xiangshan Park)

Located just steps away from major attractions like the Two Rivers and Four Lakes and Elephant Trunk Hill, everything is within walking distance. Nearby, you’ll find supermarkets, breakfast spots, and cozy cafés—perfect for convenience. The guesthouse also features a lovely afternoon tea area and a restaurant, both offering a relaxed vibe. Everything about this stay—from service and cleanliness to amenities and location—was top-notch. I couldn’t have asked for a better first stop on my journey. The hotel is perfectly located—just a 15-minute walk to Elephant Trunk Hill, making it easy to explore the area without needing transportation. Junshe Boutique Hotel

I specifically chose this charming boutique hotel for its stunning views and wanted a peaceful, photogenic stay with my mom. Waking up at 6 a.m. to wait for our day tour, stepping out of the room was like walking into a painting: endless mountain vistas and the first golden rays of dawn lit up the sky. The evening view was just as magical. Comfortable room, warm hospitality from the owner, and a lovely atmosphere throughout. Right outside the door, there’s a great selection of local eateries—super convenient. It’s only about a 10-minute taxi ride to Dongxiang Alley, making it easy to explore the city. Everything about this place felt thoughtfully designed. I’d absolutely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a serene, scenic escape in Guilin.

Fish House Youth Hostel

Staying at Fish House Youth Hostel in Guilin was such a refreshing experience. The room was spotless, cozy, and felt genuinely like home—especially perfect during the off-season when traveling solo. I loved how the walls were covered with helpful travel tips, written in fluent English, which made me think the owner might’ve been a top student back in the day. That level of care really shows. One small suggestion to make it even better: place a few mats just inside the entrance, add a simple shoe rack on the left side, and maybe include a small screen or divider along with a clear 'Please Remove Shoes' sign. This would encourage guests to change shoes upon entry, reduce dust from getting in, improve cleanliness, and create a more hygienic and comfortable space overall. Some hostels in Xi’an have already implemented this idea successfully—Fish House could easily take inspiration from that. Overall, it’s a thoughtfully run hostel with real heart, and I’d definitely come back.
