Staying at this historic Hangzhou The New Hotel was an absolute delight. I booked the Dongzhuang Celebrity Room—"Felicity in Florence," named after Xu Zhimo—and it didn’t disappoint. The private balcony overlooks West Lake, offering breathtaking views, and the room’s design is rich with character and charm. The only minor downside? Not enough power outlets, but that’s a small trade-off for such a memorable stay. Staff across front desk and restaurant were incredibly attentive and helpful—always ready to assist with a smile. Breakfast was simple but spot-on: everything made in-house, from perfectly seared steaks to delicate wontons, juicy dumplings, and fresh salmon. It felt like a home-cooked meal with a luxury touch. For lunch, we dined at 1913 Restaurant—the signature West Lake Fish in Vinegar Sauce was outstanding, balanced and authentic. Our photographer from Xiao Wan Photography, Xiao Guo, was professional and passionate; my sister loved every single shot of her in traditional cheongsam. And then there’s Chen Bo, a true local with deep knowledge of Hangzhou’s history—he brought stories to life with warmth and humor. Despite its compact size, the hotel is full of hidden gems: every corner feels like a page from history, perfect for photos and quiet exploration. This staycation was pure bliss. I’d absolutely come back—not just for the location or views, but for the soul of the place. Next time, I’m trying another room in the Dongzhuang wing.

Staying at Pins De La Brume Hotel in Hangzhou was an absolute delight. The moment I stepped into the courtyard, I was greeted by a peaceful serenity that instantly relaxed me. The underfloor heating kept the room perfectly warm without being too hot, and the air purification system ran quietly, so it never disturbed my rest. Staff at the front desk and my personal concierge were incredibly attentive and thoughtful — they made sure every need was met with genuine care. During New Year’s holiday, when ride-sharing and buses were restricted near the scenic area, the hotel arranged a shuttle to drop us off right at the entrance, which was incredibly convenient. Everything was seamless and well-organized. This place isn’t just comfortable — it’s truly special. A perfect blend of tranquility, luxury, and exceptional service. I’ll definitely be returning.
