Every time I visit Nanjing, I make sure to stay at Shangri-La—it’s simply my go-to. This trip was for a friend’s birthday, and we took the chance to explore the stunning maple leaves at Qixia Mountain, golden ginkgo trees by Xuanwu Lake, Yanyue Lake, Stone Elephant Road, and the famous plane tree avenue. Perfect timing, perfect weather, and perfect vibes! The room arranged by Manager Dong was exceptional—comfortable, elegant, and thoughtfully prepared. Dining at Jiangnan Zao was a highlight: the ingredients were fresh and top-notch. The pickled turnip with preserved vegetables was surprisingly delicious, the fish head incredibly fresh, and the sweet-and-sour ribs? Absolutely unforgettable. My friend devoured the stir-fried beef in no time—proof it was a hit! Bonus: guests staying at the hotel can enjoy complimentary room service from Jiangnan Zao—even if you’re not on the waitlist. Plus, the Christmas decorations were beautifully done, adding a magical touch to the entire stay. Honestly, I’m already planning my next visit—Shangri-La truly wins my heart every time.

I stayed at The Grand Mansion Hotel during the Christmas Eve of 2019 and decided to return for my latest trip to Nanjing—no regrets at all. This time, I upgraded to a garden-view suite, which was absolutely serene and beautifully appointed. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with fresh welcome fruits and the signature afternoon tea, both of which were delightful. Even better, the hotel included complimentary tickets to the nearby Six Dynasties Museum—a thoughtful touch that made exploring the city even more enjoyable. The location is excellent—central, walkable to major attractions, and just a short metro ride from everything. My stay was incredibly comfortable and relaxing. A special thank you to Cloris Li at check-out: her warm, friendly service stood out, and she even gifted us a cute Nanjing-themed maple leaf souvenir. It’s such a sweet little memory from our trip. Truly a top-tier experience—I’d recommend this hotel without hesitation.

I stayed here while attending a show at Taiyang Palace, and honestly had low expectations for an older property. But I was pleasantly surprised—while the building has seen some years, everything was spotlessly clean and created a wonderfully comfortable atmosphere. The front desk upgraded me to a zero-pressure room at no extra cost, and even offered welcome fruit. I took the leftover fruit and yogurt with me to the high-speed train—so convenient! The breakfast was excellent, fresh, and satisfying. The location is unbeatable: just a two-minute walk to the subway, right across from Xuanwu Lake. Perfect for morning strolls or just soaking in the scenery. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive—truly made the stay special.
