Staying at The Castle Hotel in Dalian was an unexpectedly delightful experience. While the property is over ten years old and shows a few signs of aging—like minor cracks on the cabinet above the minibar and some walls—the overall condition doesn’t detract from the comfort or quality of the stay. It’s still a well-maintained luxury hotel with all standard amenities you’d expect. Breakfast was solid, offering more variety than some Westin locations but slightly less than certain Marriott properties. That said, the food quality stood out: the pastries were excellent, juices and milk options were plentiful, and the hot dishes were flavorful despite limited choices. The braised pork belly with potatoes was rich and aromatic, while the steamed shrimp were large and fresh. One area for improvement? The fruit wasn’t very sweet, and the quality could be better. But cleanliness was spotless—no issues there. The location is truly special: perched on a hill overlooking the sea, it’s one of Dalian’s iconic landmarks. Nighttime photos are absolutely stunning, and walking down to the city takes about 10–15 minutes—quiet and peaceful, though not directly next to a subway station. Taxis are easy to catch. The rooftop garden on the fifth floor is a hidden gem, perfect for relaxing or just enjoying the view. The lobby itself is grand and beautifully designed—every corner is photogenic. Service was exceptional: staff greeted us warmly, opened doors, helped with luggage, and the dedicated concierge team went above and beyond to accommodate requests. The minibar comes at an extra cost, but we were pleasantly surprised with a welcome fruit platter, dessert, and a generous bottle of house-brewed beer—a unique touch. This brew isn’t available online, but it’s smooth, refreshing, and definitely worth trying. Overall, this hotel delivers a high level of charm, comfort, and value. It’s not just a place to sleep—it’s a memorable experience that blends elegance, nature, and thoughtful service. I’d definitely return.

I recently stayed at Kempinski Hotel Dalian and was thoroughly impressed—this place truly delivers on comfort, location, and service. The hotel has just refreshed its brand experience, and the attention to detail is evident throughout. Located right next to Dasha Department Store, it’s incredibly convenient for shopping and dining. I could reach a variety of great local restaurants within just 5 to 10 minutes on foot—perfect for exploring the city without hassle. My room was assigned by Cathy, and I couldn’t be happier. It was spacious, immaculately clean, and had a calming atmosphere that made my stay even more relaxing. The only minor issue was the pillow—I found it a bit too firm—but when I mentioned it to the front desk, they immediately replaced it with a softer one. That kind of responsiveness speaks volumes about their commitment to guest satisfaction. Overall, this is a top-tier hotel with exceptional value. I’ll definitely be back.

Grand Hyatt Dalian

Staying at Grand Hyatt Dalian was an absolute highlight of my trip to Dalian! The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from the amusement park, and you can hop on the trendy Xinghai Promenade right outside. I loved grabbing dinner at Xi Ding nearby; it’s easy to get a table even during peak hours. The room view is spectacular—direct sightlines to Xinghai Bay with breathtaking sunrises. While the evening light show wasn’t my favorite, seeing it from the comfort of my room made it just as magical. The staff went above and beyond—prompt, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. During the off-season, they upgraded us to a spacious corner room without hesitation and even left a small gift. The fitness center is well-equipped, the pool is clean and inviting, but the real surprise was the sauna and hot tub area—beautifully designed, quiet, and perfect for unwinding. A quick 15-minute cab ride gets you to Jinsha Beach, making it easy to explore more of the city. This hotel offers incredible value, comfort, and charm—definitely a top-tier choice for first-time visitors to Dalian.

Staying at Amano Hotel in Dalian (Xinghai Square Branch) was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The front desk staff, Una, was incredibly helpful and took the time to share local recommendations and breakfast hours—so thoughtful and welcoming. The room itself is well-designed with attention to small details: USB charging ports by the bed made it easy to keep devices powered, and the bathroom came fully stocked with high-quality toiletries. The view from the window was stunning—wide-open and bright, perfect for morning coffee. Breakfast was an absolute highlight: a great mix of Western and Chinese options, all freshly prepared and delicious. Every aspect of the stay felt polished and enjoyable.
