That kind of personal touch is rare. Breakfast was an absolute highlight—huge variety, beautifully presented. From freshly steamed dim sum and handmade noodles to a wide selection of breads, oatmeal, fresh fruit, yogurt, and even ice cream, every detail was thoughtfully curated. Along the way, you’ll pass charming old shikumen homes, cozy cafes, boutique shops, and historic landmarks, making every stroll feel like a little adventure through Shanghai’s soul. The hotel’s lush garden on the south side is a peaceful retreat—perfect for unwinding in the middle of the bustling city. While some facilities show their age, everything is well-maintained and blends beautifully with Shanghai’s classic charm. Service is exceptional—attentive, thoughtful, and clearly influenced by Japanese hospitality standards. Even the hallway has that subtle, calming Japanese aesthetic.
