I've been in Yunnan for ten days and originally planned to book a Sheraton hotel, but it was too far from the city center. So I chose this Kunming Xueli Jinxi Hotel near Jinchang Temple Metro Station—and I couldn't be more delighted! The location is perfect: just 20 minutes by metro to the airport and another 20 minutes to the high-speed rail station. When we arrived at 10:30 PM, the front desk staff were incredibly professional—quick check-in, immediate luggage assistance, and even a little welcome gift. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and everything was brand new. The amenities, including the body lotion and shampoo, felt luxurious and high-quality. What stood out most was the daily complimentary soup—rich, nourishing, and delicious. We stayed two nights and loved every moment. After visiting Shangri-La, I actually plan to return to Kunming just to stay here again. The hotel also has a delivery robot—ordering food from outside was so convenient. And one thing I must mention: their facial tissues are seriously impressive. Thick, soft, and never tear or leave residue on your hands—something I’ve never experienced in many five-star hotels. Honestly, this place offers a level of comfort and attention to detail that truly exceeds expectations.

Staying at CityNote Hotel in Kunming was hands down the best decision of my trip. This charming little gem, rooted in the idea of "simple beautiful living," exceeded every expectation I had—cleanliness, service, amenities, and breakfast were all spot-on and delivered with genuine care. The lobby is a stylish Instagram-worthy space with warm wooden tones and lush greenery that instantly calmed me after a long journey. I loved the 24-hour self-serve coffee station—perfect for a morning pick-me-up. My room was immaculate from top to bottom: soft, skin-friendly cotton linens, a Dreamland zero-gravity mattress that made sleeping so comfortable, and a spotless bathroom with excellent dry/wet separation. Noise isolation was impressive—once the window was closed, city sounds vanished completely. Combined with the air purification system, I slept like a baby all night. The staff went above and beyond—friendly, efficient, and genuinely helpful. Check-in was quick, and they even offered free room upgrades and shared insider tips on nearby attractions and local food spots. Any request via phone was answered promptly, and the robot delivery service was surprisingly convenient. From housekeeping to front desk, everyone smiled and made you feel welcome. Inside the room, smart controls worked flawlessly, the large-screen projector made movie nights amazing, and everything you’d need—from mini-fridge to safe—was thoughtfully included. High-quality toiletries with a fresh scent added to the luxury feel. There’s also a well-equipped fitness center, self-service laundry, and dryer—ideal for longer stays. Breakfast was an absolute highlight: fresh, diverse, and delicious. I enjoyed homemade rice noodles, er si, handmade dumplings, hot dishes, and seasonal fruits—all served until 10 a.m., perfect for late risers like me. Paired with rich, freshly brewed coffee, it truly started the day right. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable—just a short walk to Erji Road Metro Station, making visits to Guandu Ancient Town and Yunnan Provincial Museum super easy. Whether traveling for work or leisure, this hotel delivers a home-away-from-home experience. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Kunming.

Grand Mercure

Staying at Grand Mercure Kunming Xiting really exceeded my expectations. The room was spotless and very comfortable, instantly making us feel at home. What truly stood out was the breakfast service ending at 1:30 PM—perfect for families like us who love a relaxed morning with kids. We were able to sleep in, then enjoy a delicious, high-quality breakfast without rushing. I was especially impressed by the smoked salmon—it was fresh, flavorful, and clearly top-notch. While the variety might not be the most extensive compared to other hotels I've stayed at, every item tasted great and was well-prepared. The overall atmosphere is elegant, the staff friendly, and the location convenient. For a stress-free, enjoyable stay in Kunming, this hotel delivers on every front. Highly recommended!

Plateau Pearl Hotel (Kunming Yongzhong Road)

I've stayed at this classic hotel several times now, and every visit confirms how convenient it is. Just a few hundred meters from the subway station, getting around the city is super easy. There are countless restaurants and street food stalls nearby—every time I step out, I end up picking up something delicious. The breakfast is my absolute favorite, especially the small pot rice noodles. They’re rich in flavor and so good I could eat them every day—way better than what you find on the street. The housekeeping staff even recognize me now—they’re always friendly and warm. What stands out most is how clean and well-maintained the rooms are. As someone who’s a bit particular about hygiene, this place feels like home. It’s not just comfortable—it’s truly relaxing.
