The natural setting at He Nian · Ban Shan Forest Hotel is absolutely breathtaking—surrounded by lush greenery and bathed in the warm sunshine of Yunnan. Even though it was a bit chilly during our stay, the hotel had already turned on the heating early in the morning—such a thoughtful touch! Our concierge kindly reached out the day before to confirm whether we preferred breakfast delivered to our room or enjoyed it in the dining area, and everything arrived right on time. The service was exceptional throughout. Whether you're here for business travel or family fun, this place fits both perfectly. I asked the staff about local recommendations, and they shared insider tips on where to eat, what to explore, and how to make the most of your trip—all personalized and genuinely helpful. I’ve heard that each season brings a different kind of beauty to the property, making it a destination worth revisiting no matter the time of year. If I ever come back to Kunming, this will be my first choice without hesitation.

We were initially booked through our tour group, but after experiencing the excellent service and comfort at Chunchen Hotel, we decided to book additional nights directly. The staff, especially a young lady at the front desk, was incredibly friendly and attentive—she even proactively arranged a room facing the quiet courtyard, knowing we were concerned about sleep quality. The room itself was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with modern amenities. The hotel’s overall ambiance is calm and welcoming, located just steps away from Kunming Railway Station and Wanda Plaza, making it super convenient for exploring the city. Breakfast can get busy in the morning, so splitting the dining area into two smaller sections would help reduce crowding. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations—great value, top-notch service, and a peaceful stay. We’ll definitely be returning.

This time, I stayed at this Holiday Inn Express branch in Kunming, which is a bit further from the city center, but honestly, it didn’t matter at all. The hotel’s facilities, the comfort of the bedding, and the overall service were all excellent—truly exceeded expectations. What stood out most was the two front desk staff members who were so warm and welcoming every time we passed by. It felt like seeing family members each day. Their genuine hospitality made the whole experience even more memorable. As always, IHG delivered a top-notch stay, and I’ll definitely choose them again on my next trip to Kunming. A special shout-out to those two amazing ladies—I even took photos of their name tags before leaving, hoping they get recognized and appreciated by the company.
