During the Lunar New Year stay, I was pleasantly surprised by a complimentary room upgrade—such a lovely touch! My room faced directly toward the Ferris wheel, offering stunning views of the Oriental Gate at night. To my delight, I even caught a glimpse of fireworks lighting up the sky—pure magic. And yes, the breakfast was just as amazing as last time: fresh, delicious, and full of variety. I've stayed at this B&B multiple times, and each visit has been even better than the last. The value for money is outstanding—this is definitely a place I'll return to again. The room is cozy and incredibly comfortable, with crisp, clean bedding that made falling asleep easy. The interior design feels luxurious and sophisticated: crystal chandeliers, a high-end quartz dining table, a premium Lawrence sofa, and a massive custom-shaped bed that really makes a statement. The hotel is just steps from Metro Line 1’s Cultural Expo Center Station, making it super easy to reach top spots like D&G Bookstore or Suzhou Central Mall in about 10 minutes by car. I’d recommend driving if possible—plenty of convenient parking and scenic routes along the way. Overall, the experience was exceptional: quiet, well-appointed rooms, friendly staff, and great value. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and thoughtful, even surprising our little one with a sweet welcome gift. The grand Christmas tree in the lobby added such a magical atmosphere. Our kids loved the kids' play area so much they didn’t want to leave! We always come to Jinji Lake and have stayed at InterContinental Suzhou multiple times—truly a go-to choice. The hotel overlooks the lake, and Moonlight Pier is just across the bridge—super convenient for walking or taking the metro. This time, we brought my elderly parent who had just recovered from a fracture; mobility was limited, and even eating and moving around were challenging. From check-in onward, the staff went above and beyond. When we requested two rooms, they kindly arranged adjacent ones for easier supervision. Throughout breakfast and dinner buffet service, the team showed exceptional care. During dinner, a young, friendly server noticed our situation and proactively brought a cushion so my parent could elevate their injured arm—something that actually helped with swelling. He even explained the medical reasoning behind it! That level of thoughtfulness and knowledge stood out. Every interaction felt personal, warm, and professional. We’ve already taken photos of several team members’ name tags—we’d love to see them recognized by the hotel. Definitely coming back again!

Staying at Shangri-La Hotel, Suzhou Yuanqu was an absolute delight. The location is fantastic—right next to 711, FamilyMart, and Starbucks, so grabbing a quick coffee or snack is super convenient. A short walk takes you to Xinguang Plaza and Juyou Department Store, perfect for some shopping without needing to travel far. In the evening, we headed to the Ferris wheel and were pleasantly surprised by how few people were in line—got tickets and boarded right away, enjoying stunning views of the city skyline. The hotel’s Chinese restaurant served amazing noodles with crisp vegetables, and the squirrel-shaped mandarin fish was freshly prepared—absolutely delicious. Breakfast was a highlight too, with a diverse menu including sesame dumplings, Ao Zao noodles, egg rolls, Benedict eggs, sweet pea and pomelo cheese salad, and the yellow peach milk banana pancake—each dish was flavorful and satisfying. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout our stay. From comfort to convenience, every detail was spot-on. This place truly delivers on luxury and value. I’ll definitely be back.
