Everything you need to know about Changjiang Park

Hangzhou West Lake Guesthouse is a top choice, located just 1.5 km from Changjiang Park with easy walking access. Nestled beside the lake, this hotel features traditional Chinese garden design blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings, offering panoramic views of West Lake and the distant Leifeng Pagoda. Complimentary shuttle services ensure hassle-free travel.

Another excellent option is Hangzhou Boutique Hotel (West Lake Branch), situated close to the park’s walking trails. With modern amenities and a tranquil atmosphere, it's ideal for families or business travelers. The hotel integrates local cultural elements—such as replicas of Song Dynasty paintings on walls and a tea lounge serving premium Longjing tea—allowing guests to immerse themselves in Hangzhou’s rich heritage during their stay.

The park features a Children’s Interactive Ecology Zone, complete with a simulated stream and animal observation stations where kids can touch fish and snails, learning about local ecosystems firsthand. Adjacent to the park, Hangzhou Botanical Garden hosts weekly "Junior Horticulturist Workshops" every Saturday morning, allowing children to plant succulents or create nature specimens under expert guidance.

Along the lakeside, a family-friendly cycling trail spans 3 km with child-safe bicycles available for rent. Rest stops and educational signage along the route highlight native plants and bird species. In the evening, enjoy the enchanting "Glowing Firefly Lantern Parade," where staff guide families through a serene lantern walk along the lake, creating a magical and memorable experience for children and parents alike.

The most convenient option is taking Line 1 Metro, just a 5-minute walk from Changjiang Park to Longxiang Bridge Station. It takes only 10 minutes to reach major hubs like Hufu Silver Tower shopping district.

For comfort and flexibility, pre-book a DiDi express car or taxi—a 15-minute ride costing around ¥40, passing scenic spots like the Qiantang River Bridge and the city skyline.

Alternatively, numerous bike-sharing docking stations are located outside the park, compatible with Amap and HopeGoo apps. Riders can easily explore destinations such as Hefang Street or Lingyin Temple with eco-friendly, flexible routes. Use the official Hangzhou Bus App to check real-time schedules and avoid peak-hour congestion for a smooth journey.

The Changjiang Park Art Square is a must-visit photo spot, featuring a large interactive light sculpture that changes color dynamically at night, mirrored perfectly by the calm lake surface, creating stunning symmetrical shots.

Surrounding the square, blooming rows of cherry trees and crape myrtle hedges transform the area into a vibrant floral backdrop in spring and early summer—ideal for Instagram-worthy photos.

Nearby, the Lakeside Book Pavilion stands out with its white glass façade and wooden structure, illuminated by floor-to-ceiling windows and floating bookshelves. Visit between 2–4 PM for the most flattering natural lighting, perfect for artistic compositions. On-site, free photography props are available—including vintage umbrellas and Hanfu accessories—to elevate your photos with cultural flair.

Try Louwai Lou, just 800 meters from Changjiang Park—a century-old establishment famous for its Dongpo Pork and Longjing Shrimp. The signature dish, Pian'er Chuan noodle soup, features snow peas, lean pork, and fresh bamboo shoots simmered in a clear, sweet broth, embodying the essence of Hangzhou flavors.

Another great option is Lakefront Bistro, located on a wooden pier overlooking the lake. Specializing in Hángbāng home-style dishes, it excels in Sautéed Prawns and West Lake Vinegar Fish, with tender fish and balanced tangy sauce. All ingredients are sourced daily from local farms and fisheries, ensuring freshness.

With outdoor seating facing the sunset, the restaurant offers a romantic setting perfect for couples or family dinners, combining delicious food with scenic views.

Changjiang Park is free to enter and open year-round, daily from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Entry points feature smart gates that accept QR code scans or citizen card swipes for secure access.

The park includes ramps for wheelchair users and self-service tour kiosks. Visitors can scan QR codes to download digital guides with historical insights and attraction details. Nighttime lighting uses energy-efficient LED technology for safety and ambiance.

To avoid crowds, avoid public holidays like Labor Day and National Day. Smoking and alcohol consumption are prohibited within the park to maintain cleanliness and public order.

The park features a 4.5-km ecological lakeside trail paved with non-slip, permeable material, equipped with benches, drinking fountains, and emergency call stations—perfect for all ages. The path winds along the lake, flanked by dense camphor trees and swamp cypress groves, providing natural shade and clean air, especially pleasant in summer.

Extending southward, the Qiantang River Greenway connects to the Qiantang River Bridge, spanning 7 km and popular among locals for morning runs and walks. Along the route, fitness checkpoints and real-time health displays track heart rate and step count. Interpretive signs also highlight wetland ecology and migratory bird patterns, blending physical activity with environmental education—making it one of Hangzhou’s premier urban green spaces for wellness and nature connection.

Lin Yin Xi Lu (Hangzhou West Lake Wushan Square)

We stayed at Lin Yin Xi Lu with my parents and young child during our trip to Hangzhou, and everyone was thoroughly impressed. The location is fantastic—just a 15-minute walk to West Lake, with plenty of dining options nearby. Our room on the second floor had a spacious tatami area with huge windows overlooking a beautiful osmanthus tree, and you can even catch a glimpse of the distant Leifeng Pagoda—such a peaceful view. The room itself was generously sized, perfect for traveling with kids. What stood out was the in-house breakfast and coffee shop—clean, welcoming, and serving delicious local flavors. Everything about the stay felt thoughtfully designed: quiet, cozy, and full of charm. It’s rare to find a place that ticks all the boxes for comfort, convenience, and atmosphere. We’ll definitely come back.

JIUJU hotel

Staying at JIUJU Hotel in Hangzhou was an absolutely delightful experience. Nestled at the foot of Jade Emperor Mountain, just a short walk from Yuhuangshan Road, this charming homestay offers a peaceful retreat away from the city buzz—perfect for those seeking quiet and authenticity. The room we stayed in had only a mattress, which was surprisingly ideal for families with young kids; no worries about them rolling off the bed during sleep. Getting to West Lake and surrounding attractions was super convenient—just a quick ride down the hill. The breakfast was simple but heartfelt: homemade noodles or wonton soup, prepared by the kind elderly hosts themselves. What truly stood out was their exceptional hospitality. Knowing we were leaving late on our fourth night, they even cooked dinner for us and drove us to our destination. After check-out, they kindly delivered our luggage to the bottom of the mountain. Later, when we realized we’d left something behind, they called us immediately, arranged express delivery, and sent it back without hesitation. Their thoughtfulness and genuine care made the whole stay feel personal and warm. Truly one of the most memorable stays I’ve ever had—no need to look elsewhere. A perfect blend of comfort, kindness, and location.

Zhenaoyuan River View Apartment (Hangzhou Aoti Zhongxin)

Staying at Zhenaoyuan River View Apartment was an absolute highlight of my trip to Hangzhou! The location is unbeatable—right next to the Olympic Sports Center and just a short walk from the metro, making it super convenient for exploring the city. The building itself feels secure with facial recognition at the entrance, giving me peace of mind throughout my stay. I booked a two-story unit, and the layout worked perfectly—the ground floor bedroom was cozy and well-designed, while sliding open the doors opened up to a bright, spacious living area. The highlight? A massive wall of floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light. I spent several afternoons lounging on the sofa, curtains open, soaking in the sunlight while enjoying the view. From the upper floors, you can even catch glimpses of the Qiantang River—seriously, the ambiance is unmatched. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s a true home away from home with incredible value.

XIANGHU XIAOYAO MANOR

This estate is absolutely massive—beyond the main building, it spreads across an entire hillside with a beautifully arranged cluster of villas (Xiangyuan) nestled among the trees. Just strolling in the sunshine felt like a mini escape from reality. The staff were proactive even before check-in, reaching out to ask about our preferences, and continued checking in throughout our stay—very attentive without being intrusive. From front desk to concierge, everyone responded quickly and warmly. We tried the yakitori dinner at Yiba and breakfast, both of which were delicious and well-prepared. Despite the surprisingly long corridors in the guest rooms—some of us joked we’d need a map to find our way back—the overall experience was outstanding. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s a peaceful retreat that made our weekend truly memorable.

Zhejiang Xizi Hotel · Wangzhuang · West Lake Famous Garden

I’ve long admired Wangzhuang, the iconic lakeside retreat near West Lake in Hangzhou, and finally had the chance to stay here during a Black Friday deal that felt like a steal. The moment I stepped in, I could tell this was something special—excellent service, top-notch dining, and an atmosphere that truly feels luxurious. The property is vast, with beautifully maintained lawns and trees. Since we visited right at peak season for maple and ginkgo foliage, the grounds were gently dusted with golden leaves, creating a magical, almost cinematic setting. Paths are clean and well-kept, making it easy to wander around for hours just taking photos and soaking in the scenery. We booked the daily 10 AM 'Wangzhuang Cruise' tour, which circles West Lake in about an hour. The boat itself is spotless, with comfortable upholstered seats, air-conditioned enclosed cabins, and panoramic glass windows that offer stunning views of both sides of the lake. I especially loved standing at the back deck to capture sweeping shots of the water and gardens—absolutely breathtaking. The highlight of the stay was the complimentary photography package. While one of the staff members from Hainan came across as rather abrupt and inflexible, the photographer, Mr. Song, and the makeup artist were incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. Their work brought out the best in our photos, and the final results were truly memorable. Overall, despite a minor hiccup, the experience exceeded expectations—this place deserves every bit of its reputation.

New Century Hotel Binjiang Hangzhou

Staying at New Century Hotel Binjiang Hangzhou was a fantastic experience overall. The room was on a high floor, offering breathtaking views of the city skyline and the nearby river—especially stunning at night when the lights came on. The hotel’s interior design embraces a traditional Chinese aesthetic with elegant details throughout, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere. Located right in the heart of Binjiang District, it's incredibly convenient for both business and leisure travelers—just a short walk to shopping centers and public transit options. The buffet breakfast was impressive: wide variety, fresh ingredients, and well-prepared dishes from both local and international cuisines. Staff were friendly and attentive, making every interaction pleasant. The only minor issue was inconsistent hot and cold water pressure, possibly due to the building’s height, but it didn’t significantly impact the stay. All in all, this is a top-tier hotel with excellent value, and I’d definitely return.

The staircase layout has a playful, almost Squid Game-inspired vibe, making it ideal for Instagram-worthy shots. The Azure Qiantang, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hangzhou

I’ve seen so many posts on Xiaohongshu about this hotel, and honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first—especially with the price point. But after staying here, I’m seriously impressed. We were upgraded to a 180-degree river view room for free, and the view alone is worth every penny—watching the Qiantang River stretch out in front of you during the day or the city lights sparkle at night is unforgettable. The service was prompt and thoughtful throughout our stay. Special shoutout to Anthea at reception—friendly, efficient, and always smiling. And Jack from the Chinese restaurant went above and beyond with his warm hospitality. Everything felt personal, not just transactional. If you're looking for a luxury experience with a stunning riverside view and genuine care from staff, this place delivers. Highly recommend it.

Hotel Twinkle

Staying at Hotel Twinkle in Hangzhou's Binjiang Olympic Sports Center was hands down one of the most memorable experiences I've had recently. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, the elegant French-inspired architecture and modern luxury set the tone perfectly—like walking into a high-end art gallery. The exterior is strikingly sophisticated, but it’s inside where the details truly shine. Every corner of the public spaces feels intentional and beautifully curated, with an artistic vibe that speaks volumes about the hotel’s attention to quality and design. The front desk staff were exceptional—my personal concierge was warm, attentive, and always smiling. Whether it was check-in or last-minute advice before checkout, their professionalism and genuine hospitality made all the difference. Dining here was another highlight. The restaurant isn’t just visually stunning—it delivers on taste too. Breakfast was fresh and thoughtfully prepared, while dinner offered a refined menu with excellent presentation. The ambiance elevated every meal into a special occasion. The fitness center and pool are well-maintained and spacious, perfect for unwinding after a long day. I especially loved soaking in the pool under the evening sky—it was peaceful and rejuvenating. One small moment stood out: I arrived late and accidentally locked my keycard inside the room. Without hesitation, the team helped me reissue a new one quickly and calmly. Their calm response and willingness to assist made me feel truly cared for. Overall, this place offers more than just a room—it offers a feeling. High-end comfort, thoughtful service, and a serene atmosphere make it a standout choice. I’ll definitely be back.
