It was freezing in Hangzhou on Saturday, December 13th—wind howling everywhere. I hadn’t even checked in yet, but the owner had already instructed the staff to turn on the room’s heating. As soon as I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm air—so welcoming and cozy. I was there for the 6th Hangzhou Winter Ultra Marathon, and being a first-time trail runner, my timing was all over the place. To my surprise, the owner didn’t charge me any late check-out fee—even though I stayed way past the usual time. That kind of flexibility and kindness is rare. The room was fully equipped: shampoo, conditioner, body wash—all three essentials were provided. Plus, single-use face cloths, toothbrushes, hairdryer, kettle, and even earplugs by the bedside. I forgot to bring dental floss, mentioned it casually, and the owner’s wife immediately handed me her daughter’s kids’ floss—such a sweet, thoughtful gesture. I’m already planning my next visit. Just one wish: could they add a shoe horn? Also, the location is fantastic—lots of great dining options nearby, a small local grocery store, and both Pao Lai Tang and Nánbóshān Coffee (Lánjiāwān branch) are just a short walk away. Super convenient if you’re into running or just want to relax. Overall, this place offers an unbeatable mix of comfort, service, and value. Definitely returning.

One thing to note: there’s no on-site parking, and access requires walking down a stone path with steps—so I’d recommend avoiding large suitcases if possible. My room was on the second floor without an elevator, but the front desk staff were incredibly helpful—she personally carried my luggage up and even gave me great tips on local attractions, ticket booking options, and efficient travel routes. Their warm hospitality made all the difference. Overall, fantastic value, peaceful atmosphere, and perfect for travelers who appreciate authenticity and local charm. Definitely coming back.
