Hangzhou Shusheng Longjing Hotel

I always visit Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou around the end of the year, and I’ve been staying at Shusheng Longjing Hotel for years—it’s become my go-to choice. The location is perfect: just a 10-minute bike ride to West Lake and only 8–10 minutes to Lingyin Temple, making it super convenient for exploring the area on two wheels. The surrounding trails and quiet streets make cycling or walking the best way to get around. The staff went above and beyond—before check-in, they reached out to help with transport tips and followed up afterward to see how we were enjoying our stay. Having a 24/7 concierge was a huge plus. And the breakfast? Fantastic. Since the hotel runs its own Chinese restaurant, the food is fresh, flavorful, and authentic. It’s not just a place to sleep—it feels like a home base for a peaceful, well-organized trip. Highly recommend for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and genuine hospitality.

I especially loved the large, bright bathroom with modern amenities and the beautiful wooden flooring that adds warmth and character to the space. Breakfast was a highlight—diverse and fresh, offering both Western and Chinese options, all prepared right in front of you. It’s rare to find such quality and variety in a boutique hotel. Highly recommended for travelers seeking comfort, location, and a touch of elegance.

Hangzhou Hua Jia Shan Resort

We were incredibly lucky during the New Year holiday when the hotel upgraded our room at no extra cost—what a wonderful surprise! The accommodation was cozy and comfortable, even though the balcony felt a bit chilly. However, the view and overall atmosphere made it well worth it. The resort’s architecture is truly unique—each balcony feels like it’s nestled in a loft with a striking sloped design. Surrounded by serene mountain scenery, the property beautifully blends traditional elements: pavilions, bridges, and flowing waterways create a peaceful, almost dreamlike setting. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner on-site, and every meal was satisfying and delicious. It’s rare to find such charm, tranquility, and excellent service all in one place. A perfect getaway that exceeded all expectations.

The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful—always smiling, ready to assist, and going the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. Dining at Zhiwei Hall was another highlight. The food was excellent, with authentic flavors and beautiful presentation. While some dishes were on the pricier side, considering the quality, setting, and service, it felt justified. My family especially loved the taste of the signature dishes and kept raving about them afterward. Overall, this was a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and hospitality. The Nook Hotel Hangzhou - A design hotel, 20 mins to West Lake and Lingyin Temple

Staying at The Nook Hotel Hangzhou felt like stepping into a peaceful retreat with a minimalist, Muji-inspired vibe. The upgraded room was absolutely dreamy—my favorite part was soaking in the bathtub while gazing out at the serene mountain view through the floor-to-ceiling glass. Natural light floods in, and the open-air balcony with lush greenery outside made every moment feel calming and refreshing. Getting there was easy—just a short walk from the metro station, following clear signs up a few steps and along a tree-lined path flanked by towering gingko and sycamore trees. Special shoutout to Mr. He at reception—he went above and beyond, personally escorting me to my room while sharing fascinating insights about the property and nearby attractions. When a small issue came up during my stay, he handled it quickly and thoughtfully. Breakfast was a highlight: a well-curated mix of Chinese and Western options, with standout dishes like freshly made lotus root paste and Dingsheng cake—delicate, sweet, and perfect with a cup of Longjing tea to start the day. The on-site restaurant serves exquisite Jiangnan fusion cuisine. The signature fish head dish is a masterpiece—blending classic Hangzhou flavors with modern techniques, where the aroma of fresh fragrant bamboo shoots dances with the savory depth of ham. I also enjoyed afternoon tea at the lounge, set in a beautifully designed space with panoramic views. The rooms are a thoughtful blend of traditional Chinese garden aesthetics and smart technology. The wooden furnishings, soft lighting, and top-quality bedding (rumored to be from the renowned Kingsdown brand) made for an incredibly restful night’s sleep. Shangri-La Hangzhou

Staying at Shangri-La Hangzhou was an absolute delight from start to finish. The hotel exudes luxury and elegance, perfectly positioned right by West Lake—just a short walk to the water’s edge where you can enjoy peaceful strolls or take a boat ride whenever you feel like it. Nearby attractions like Yue Wang Temple and Gushan Island are easily accessible, making it ideal for exploring the area. The service here is exceptional—friendly, attentive, and professional. I appreciated the complimentary parking, though I did note the local odd-even license plate restrictions, so plan accordingly if driving. Rooms are immaculate, spotless, and beautifully designed with modern comforts. It’s worth mentioning that this property was formerly known as Hangzhou Hotel, a historic landmark on Beishan Road, now revitalized under the Shangri-La brand—a perfect blend of heritage and world-class hospitality.
