Hotel Skypark Kingstown Dongdaemun

Located just steps away from Dongdaemun and Myeongdong, this hotel offers unbeatable convenience for exploring Seoul. The lobby is on the 14th floor—not ground level—so make sure to double-check your floor when you arrive; it’s clearly marked, so no worries. Rooms are spotless, well-maintained, and surprisingly comfortable, with a peaceful atmosphere perfect for a good night’s sleep. The hot and cold water dispenser worked perfectly, delivering consistent temperature control—no sudden surprises! Mangrove Sinseol

I stayed at Mangrove Sinseol Hotel for a few days and was really impressed. The location is perfect—right next to the subway station, just a 15-minute ride to Seongsu and about 30 minutes to Hongdae. The airport bus 6002 stops right outside, making travel super convenient. There are plenty of nearby convenience stores like 7-Eleven, CU, OY, Mega, and Mammoth—no long lines even during peak hours. The building has a secure entry with a password lock, and the elevator requires your room keycard, which adds peace of mind. The shared kitchen is clean and well-maintained, and the rooftop terrace offers a great view—perfect for relaxing in the evening. Check-in and check-out are fully self-service, and the machine supports Simplified Chinese, which is a big plus for introverted travelers. The bathroom is on the smaller side, and housekeeping comes every six days, but that’s not an issue if you’re staying just a few days. Overall, it’s a quiet, safe, and well-designed place with excellent value. Highly recommend for solo travelers.

I even got a complimentary set of pajamas and a sweet handwritten welcome note with my last name—such a personal touch! The room had all the essentials: air conditioning, mini-fridge, night light, power adapter, and hairdryer. My hostess was incredibly kind—she speaks Korean, Japanese, and some English, and she’s actively learning Mandarin too. She helped me carry my luggage and went out of her way to make me feel at home. The breakfast was beautifully prepared, presented with care, and absolutely delicious. The Westin Josun Seoul

We stayed at The Westin Josun Seoul on the 18th floor in a spacious 55 sqm family suite with two connecting rooms—perfect for our trip with kids and large 30-inch suitcases. There was plenty of room to unpack everything without any hassle. The bathroom was well-designed with a clean separation between wet and dry areas, and having a bathtub made it so relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. What truly stood out was the thoughtful touches: a warm cup of red date ginseng tea was always waiting on the coffee table when we returned, and our children were greeted with little surprises each evening. The turndown service was impeccable—the slippers, water bottles, and bedside tray were neatly arranged every night. As someone with a strong preference for cleanliness, I appreciate how the staff even provided perfectly pressed, fresh cloths to place under my jewelry and cosmetics—such a small but incredibly meaningful gesture. After decades of staying at luxury hotels, few have matched this level of attention to detail. Novotel Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun Hotels & Residences

While the hotel is a bit outside the city center, it offers significantly better value compared to other options in downtown Seoul. The nearby subway station makes getting around easy—just hop on the train to explore major attractions. Alternatively, using a local ride-hailing app (available for download) lets you book a car in advance or request one instantly, which was especially helpful for our family of six. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance offering all kinds of authentic Korean food—just take a stroll and you’ll find something delicious. The front desk staff speak English and are genuinely warm and attentive. We booked two rooms: one king bedroom and one twin room with a queen-sized bed and a single bed, perfect for three people. The room had a lovely balcony, ample space, clean interiors, and water temperature that was just right. I particularly loved the shampoo and conditioner—they left my hair incredibly soft and smooth. I’d love to know the brand! Breakfast was modest in variety but tasty overall. All in all, this stay was highly satisfying, and I’d definitely return.
