We were originally booked into Yinchan, but due to heritage building maintenance, we were upgraded to the Zhiji Suite instead. This review is based on our stay at Zhiji. The historic architecture and courtyard are absolutely beautiful—perfect for photos and soaking in the local charm. However, the room’s amenities were underwhelming—definitely not up to par with a full-service chain like Quanji. The bedding didn’t feel like what I’d expect from Huazhu Club either. That said, the staff member Xiao Zhang was exceptional—always present, attentive, and genuinely warm. There was also a tiny adorable dog named Xuebi who added so much character to the experience. What really frustrated me was the misleading info: I personally checked Yinchan’s courtyard and found it wasn’t under maintenance at all—it was actually rented out, and there were newborn kittens inside. Several guests had been moved here from Yinchan, which made the situation even more confusing. I gave five stars purely because of the outstanding service—no way I wanted to cause any trouble for such a thoughtful team. If you value hospitality and authenticity over luxury fittings, this place still offers a unique, heartfelt stay in Lijiang’s ancient city.

The wooden stilted houses have such a unique, authentic charm that instantly transports you into a peaceful mountain retreat. The rooms are cozy, well-appointed, and incredibly relaxing — just lying in bed, listening to the breeze and looking out at the snow-capped peaks, it feels like time slows down. The garden is beautifully designed with seasonal flowers and thoughtful landscaping, making every corner feel serene and inspiring. I didn’t do much during my stay — just lounging by the courtyard, sipping tea, and soaking in the views. It’s exactly the kind of escape I needed. This hidden gem truly delivers on both location and views! Nestled right next to Shuhe Ancient Town, it’s super convenient whether you’re arriving by train or driving—free parking is a big plus, and getting to Yulong Snow Mountain is just a short drive away. I loved relaxing on my private balcony with a cold brew in hand, soaking up the sun during the afternoon. The room’s soundproofing is excellent—completely quiet and peaceful, perfect for unwinding after a busy day. At night, I’d just sit outside, enjoy the gentle breeze, and gaze at the stars—so calming and magical. Special thanks to front desk staff Kathy, who was incredibly helpful and warm throughout our stay. Her attention to detail made all the difference. This place offers such a unique blend of comfort, tranquility, and authenticity. A must-visit if you're in Lijiang.
