This stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Chengdu Riverside was absolutely fantastic! The concierge, Xiao Zhu, went above and beyond—so thoughtful and helpful throughout our visit. The breakfast was delicious, with a great variety of fresh options, and the hot coffee was perfect to start the day. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade to a spacious deluxe twin room—clean, quiet, and beautifully appointed. Location-wise, it couldn’t be better: just steps from the metro station, and East City Memory is within walking distance. We spent hours exploring the vibrant streets, trying local snacks, and browsing unique shops. Everything we needed was right at our doorstep. This hotel offers an unbeatable mix of comfort, convenience, and warm hospitality. I’m already planning my next visit!

I was a bit nervous about smoke smell in the room, so I specifically asked the front desk for a unit that had been vacant the previous night—perfect choice! The room was immaculate and completely free of any lingering odors. Spacious and thoughtfully designed, it even featured a little balcony where I enjoyed my morning coffee with a view. The breakfast blew me away: warm congee, freshly ground soy milk and coffee, a great selection of fresh fruits, savory stir-fries, steamed dishes, and homemade desserts—all delicious and well-presented. The oversized, cozy sofa was the cherry on top; I just wanted to stay put all day. Great location, friendly staff, and incredible value for money. This is definitely a place I’ll return to next time I’m in Chengdu.

I especially loved the Tmall Genie smart voice control system; adjusting lights, opening curtains, or turning on the AC with just a voice command made everything so effortless. The bathroom features a well-designed wet-dry separation, hot water came instantly, and all toiletries were thoughtfully provided—even the toothbrush was brand new. The location is super convenient, just steps away from the railway station and close to metro access, making it easy to explore Chengdu. It’s a fantastic blend of comfort, tech-savvy convenience, and cleanliness. Definitely a top choice for both business and leisure travelers.

Chengdu Jiuyanqiao Yaduo NetEase Yanxuan Hotel

I was unsure where to stay during my trip to Chengdu, so I went with Yaduo—always a safe bet. This Jiuyanqiao location is perfect: just a short walk from the metro, right next to Guanghuan Shopping Park, and there’s a Luckin Coffee right at the entrance. Everything I needed—food, shopping, transport—was within easy reach. The hotel itself is clean, well-maintained, and has all the essentials you’d want. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. It’s not just convenient—it’s a great value for the price. Definitely coming back here if I ever visit Chengdu again.

Chengdu East Railway Station Greenland 468 Center Atour Hotel

I finally made it to Chengdu for an overnight stay—something I’d wanted to do ever since my previous visits in 2005 and 2018, when I only passed through without stopping. This time, during my extended trip from October 2nd to 13th, I was determined to spend at least one night here. My main goal? To visit the tomb of Guan Yu (Guan Yunchang), famously mentioned in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, located supposedly in eastern Chengdu. After arriving at Chengdu South Railway Station, I took a taxi straight there—but unfortunately, the site was closed due to major construction work. Still, I managed to take some photos from outside before heading to my hotel. The Atour Hotel at Chengdu East Railway Station turned out to be a delightful surprise. Located right near the train station, it’s incredibly convenient for getting around the city—just a short subway ride into downtown. The hotel itself is spotless, modern, and part of a fresh concept with thoughtful touches like a mini-fridge in the room. Staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Dinner featured a rich, comforting soup that stood out, and breakfast was excellent—plenty of choices, high quality. What truly added charm was the little tea house next door; I spent a relaxed evening sipping tea and chatting with locals, exchanging stories and laughs. Even the puzzle game by the elevator added a fun, unexpected moment while waiting. It’s rare to find a hotel that combines comfort, service, and personality so well. Located just steps away from Longhu Binjiang Mall, we had easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment options. A peaceful park is also nearby, ideal for a morning walk or evening stroll. The room itself was well-equipped, clean, and comfortable—everything you’d expect from a quality hotel: modern amenities, good lighting, cozy bedding, and reliable Wi-Fi.
