Gran Melia Xi'an

Staying at Gran Melia Xi'an was an absolute delight from start to finish. The hotel's design is elegant without being overly flashy—very refined and modern. Our Huanxiang Suite, measuring 103 square meters, felt spacious and airy, making it incredibly comfortable for our family stay. The bedding was plush and fresh with no strange odors, and the housekeeping staff were consistently attentive—daily cleaning, plus a second tidy-up in the evening, which made a big difference. The staff on the executive floor were especially memorable: warm, patient, and genuinely thoughtful. They greeted my child by name each time and even brought over two small packs of chips just because he liked them—such a sweet, personal touch. The executive lounge snacks were also excellent—on our first night, when we were rushing to get ready, I stopped by for a quick bite. There was a good variety of options, and everything felt fresh and well-curated. Location-wise, this hotel is unbeatable—just across from the Tang Paradise Garden, a short walk to the lively Tang Dynasty Night Market, and close to Qujiang Book City. Everything is pedestrian-friendly, which is perfect for exploring the area at your own pace. The concierge at the lobby was outstanding—professional, efficient, and clearly experienced. A few words were enough for him to understand exactly what I needed, living up to the Gold Key reputation. Overall, while it might not be the flashiest hotel in town, the service quality ranks among the top I've experienced. It’s calm, respectful, and deeply considerate—everyone knows their role and executes it flawlessly. That level of consistency is rare. One small suggestion: please extend breakfast service a bit longer. We arrived around 10:30, and the serving station had already been cleared—plates and tongs were gone—even though food was still available. It left latecomers stranded without tools to serve themselves. A minor fix, but would make a big difference. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay!

The room was unexpectedly spacious and bright, with a bed so soft it felt like sinking into a cloud. Cleanliness and attention to detail were impeccable throughout. What stood out most was the warm, personalized service—our concierge, Xiao Yang, went above and beyond with welcoming fruit platters, hot tea, steaming towels, and helpful local tips. He struck the perfect balance between Western professionalism and Eastern hospitality, making us feel genuinely at home. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable: just a 3-minute walk to the metro station, steps from Shai Ge Mall, and within a 3-kilometer radius of major attractions like the Great Wild Goose Pagoda, Shaanxi History Museum, and Tang Paradise. We loved using the complimentary fitness center and the kids’ play area—perfect for families. Bonus perks like free parking and late check-out made our experience even smoother. Dining was another high point—the Jue Wei Restaurant served beautifully crafted Chinese dishes, while Yue West Restaurant offered a diverse buffet with both Eastern and Western flavors. Our stay at Somerset Xindicheng Xi'an was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The moment we arrived, staff greeted us warmly and even helped carry our luggage—so welcoming! The front desk team went above and beyond by gifting our elderly parents a pair of herbal massage mallets, which they loved so much they asked for another the next day. When one of our parents wasn’t feeling well, the team kindly allowed us to take breakfast back to the room—such thoughtful flexibility. Housekeeping staff always smiled and said hello, making us feel truly at home. The pool is exceptional—crystal-clear water with perfect temperature, far better than many other hotels we’ve stayed in. It’s definitely a must-visit spot. The fitness center is top-notch, equipped with modern machines, plus there’s a sauna, table tennis, and even snooker—a fantastic bonus for relaxation and fun. We traveled with our parents in their 80s, and the staff were incredibly attentive and considerate throughout. The option to request an extra bed made the space even more comfortable for family travel. Our room was spacious and fully equipped with kitchenware and a washing machine—perfect for longer stays. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade to a windowed room, along with a welcome fruit platter and some tasty snacks—such thoughtful touches really set the tone for the trip. The lobby area offers free hot towels, tea, coffee, and light pastries, making it a cozy spot to unwind. I especially appreciated the late-night noodle service—delicious and satisfying after a long day. The room itself was spacious and incredibly comfortable, with all amenities well-maintained. I loved the variety of two different flavored coffee pods, and the bathrobe came as a full two-piece set, neatly stored in a protective cover inside the closet—really shows attention to cleanliness and detail. Breakfast was outstanding: abundant, fresh, and delicious. I did laundry during my stay, left a note with a smiley face, and the next morning, my clothes were already perfectly dried and returned—such a nice personal touch! They also provided little kid-sized slippers, which my children loved. Room service was prompt, and everything arrived quickly. The breakfast buffet was delicious, but I have to say the fried eggs were absolutely outstanding—perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, soft inside. The hotel has a free parking lot, which made exploring the city by car super convenient. We were disappointed we couldn’t get tickets to the Shaanxi History Museum—it’s notoriously hard to book—but the front desk staff immediately suggested some great alternative attractions that were perfect for families. Their recommendations were thoughtful and helpful. With its excellent location near the Tang Paradise area, friendly staff, and attention to detail, this hotel offers incredible value. Definitely a top pick if you're visiting Xi’an with kids.

For visiting the Shaanxi History Museum, crossing the street to catch a bus is actually more convenient than taking the subway, and it only takes about three stops. Plus, using Alipay for the bus fare gave us a 50% discount—a deal we hadn’t seen anywhere else during our travels across China! The front desk staff went above and beyond—they kindly heated our food and even stored leftovers for us. And when we checked out, they surprised us with a thoughtful little gift. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality and attention to detail. This place truly delivers on comfort, convenience, and charm. We’ll definitely be back.

The room was spotlessly clean, with fresh linens, well-stocked toiletries, and everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. It's clear they prioritize hygiene and guest comfort. Despite being in the heart of the city, the place is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The location is perfect—just a 10-minute walk from the bustling Datang Fubin Night Market, the Chang’an Twelve Hours experience, and the beautiful Daming Palace Park. No need for taxis; everything is within easy reach on foot. I was there during my birthday, and the hotel went above and beyond—surprised me with a delicious cake and even decorated the room with care. It felt truly special. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, offering a wide variety of options, including authentic local favorites like lamb stewed bread (yang rou pao mo), meat-filled buns (rou jia mo), Biangbiang noodles, and Zengao. Plus, the garden features two gorgeous peacocks that stroll around peacefully—perfect for photos. The room itself was spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable, with soft bedding and complimentary sleep aids like herbal pillows and sachets. The view outside the window was stunning, especially at night when the Big Wild Goose Pagoda lights up. I’d definitely come back again.
