I’ve stayed at Hangzhou Huangpinju Apartment a few times now, and while it’s not perfect, there are definitely some small improvements that could be made. First off, no breakfast voucher is a bit of a disappointment for those who like to start the day with a meal. The toilet lid also slams down abruptly—no slow-close mechanism—so when you accidentally bump it, it makes this loud 'thud' sound that startled me more than once. The bedding and sheets are decent but not quite up to par with some newer boutique hotels; they feel a bit thin and worn in places. The slippers are also very lightweight and not very durable for extended use. That said, the overall experience is excellent. What really stands out is the spaciousness—this room is easily double the size of most budget hotels or guesthouses I’ve stayed in. It feels airy, clean, and well-ventilated. Plus, the amenities are top-notch: a full-sized fridge, a washer with drying function, and everything you’d need for a comfortable long-term stay. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable—right outside Exit B of Line 2 metro, making it super easy to get around the city, whether heading to West Lake or the historic Hefang Street.
