The host kindly drove me there and later picked me up—no hassle at all. I stopped by Fajing Temple to pick up some traditional mooncakes—locals swear by them. Back at Lingyin Temple’s Feilai Entrance, the highlight of the journey was eating at Pumeng Vegetarian Restaurant. Since we visited right at peak season for maple and ginkgo foliage, the grounds were gently dusted with golden leaves, creating a magical, almost cinematic setting. Paths are clean and well-kept, making it easy to wander around for hours just taking photos and soaking in the scenery. We booked the daily 10 AM 'Wangzhuang Cruise' tour, which circles West Lake in about an hour. The boat itself is spotless, with comfortable upholstered seats, air-conditioned enclosed cabins, and panoramic glass windows that offer stunning views of both sides of the lake. I was a bit nervous before my trip after reading so many reviews, and originally planned to book two rooms—luckily, I only ended up securing one. Still, I decided to give it a try and called the reservations team. I was connected with Miss Shao Linyang, who was incredibly helpful. Even though we couldn’t secure an additional room, she followed up promptly and made sure every step was communicated clearly. To my surprise, she upgraded my room and even left fresh fruit upon arrival. When I mentioned I’d be traveling with a child, she proactively arranged kid-friendly amenities, and the room came equipped with a mini-bar—thoughtful touches that really stood out. As a long-standing five-star property, the service level is consistently excellent. The location is unbeatable—right next to Wulin Night Market, and just a 10-minute walk to West Lake. On days when traffic restrictions made taxis hard to find, walking became the easiest option. Breakfast was generous in both variety and quality. Overall, this stay exceeded my expectations. A special thank you to Miss Shao for her professionalism and warm hospitality—it truly made all the difference.

West Lake State Guesthouse

Staying at West Lake State Guesthouse was an absolute delight. The facilities exceeded my expectations—spacious, elegant, and thoughtfully designed with attention to detail. The room was immaculately clean, and every corner felt fresh and well-maintained. What truly stood out was the location: just a short walk from West Lake, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing. Getting to Feilai Feng was also quick and easy by car or public transport. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful—always smiling, ready to assist, and going the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. Dining at Zhiwei Hall was another highlight. The food was excellent, with authentic flavors and beautiful presentation. While some dishes were on the pricier side, considering the quality, setting, and service, it felt justified. My family especially loved the taste of the signature dishes and kept raving about them afterward. Overall, this was a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and hospitality. A top-tier experience with outstanding value. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting Hangzhou.
