They also handed us two vouchers for the self-service breakfast, which was absolutely worth it—energizing and satisfying. From cleanliness and service to room comfort and overall ambiance, every detail was well thought out. Even during off-season, the rate was under $20 USD per night—unbeatable value. Platinum wan'ao Victory Hotel

Our 8-day self-drive trip across Shaanxi ended with a stay at Platinum Wan'ao Victory Hotel in Xi'an, and overall, it was an excellent choice. The location is incredibly convenient—right across from Hepingmen Metro Station, just a 50-meter walk away, making public transit access seamless for exploring the city. The hotel faces the ancient city wall directly, and it’s only about a 1.7-kilometer stroll to Yongning Gate if you want to walk along the wall—a pleasant way to enjoy the historic surroundings. Upon check-in, the front desk proactively upgraded us to a larger room, which made a big difference: spacious enough to comfortably unpack and move around, and ideal for family travel. Cleanliness was spot-on, meeting standard expectations without any issues. One minor drawback is the parking situation—being a multi-level garage, it’s not the most user-friendly, especially for larger vehicles, though my compact car navigated it easily. Breakfast was decent but not particularly impressive by luxury hotel standards—nothing overly elaborate, and we didn’t receive a third breakfast for our parents, which was slightly disappointing since this was one of only two hotels on the entire trip that didn’t offer it. Still, considering the excellent location, helpful staff, room comfort, and overall value, it’s hard not to give high praise. For travelers prioritizing convenience and a solid base in central Xi’an, this hotel is a strong recommendation.

Location-wise, it’s absolutely perfect—just steps from the old town, with easy access to the ancient city wall and the bustling Muslim Quarter. Walking to local street food spots is a breeze, and the metro station right outside means commuting to work is fast and hassle-free without needing a taxi. I especially loved the ground-floor coffee—it’s way better than any takeaway I’ve had lately. There’s also a great selection of authentic local eats nearby, giving the area a real local vibe. If I ever bring my family on a trip to Xi’an, this will be my first choice again. Highly recommend for both business and leisure travelers.

Sofitel Xi'an on Renmin Square

This was my second stay at this hotel, and I’m happy to say everything lived up to expectations—plus, I got upgraded to a larger room! The suite is spacious with excellent layout and well-maintained amenities. The only minor issue was the hot water in the bathtub—it didn’t get quite hot enough for my taste. Breakfast was a highlight: the local Xi’an dishes had authentic flavor, though not overly standout; however, the Western breakfast options were impressive—fresh, varied, and high quality. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable—just a short walk from the Bell and Drum Towers, and very convenient access to the Wukou Metro Station. The surrounding area has plenty of dining options and daily necessities. Overall, a fantastic experience with great value for money. I’ll definitely be returning when I come back to Xi’an.

The Maison New Century Hotel (The Ancient City Wall ）

Our stay at The Maison New Century Hotel (The Ancient City Wall) in Xi'an exceeded all expectations! From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff went above and beyond by upgrading us to a higher-category room at no extra cost—such a thoughtful touch. What truly touched us was that it happened to be my daughter's birthday; the hotel had secretly prepared fresh fruit, a small gift, and a heartfelt handwritten card. Her face lit up with pure joy—this level of personal care made the trip unforgettable. The room itself was a highlight: smart features like motorized curtains and motion-sensor lighting created a seamless, comfortable experience. Every member of the staff—from concierge to housekeeping—was attentive, proactive, and respectful without being intrusive. It’s rare to find such genuinely warm, intuitive service. Location-wise, it couldn’t be better. The hotel is literally steps from the metro entrance, making it easy to reach major attractions like the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and Bell Tower within minutes. Whether you're here for sightseeing or just looking for a peaceful retreat, this place delivers on every level. This wasn’t just a comfortable stay—it became a cherished memory for our family. We’ll definitely be back next time we visit Xi'an.
