Prestonfield House

Staying at Prestonfield House felt like stepping into a classic British country estate—seriously elegant and full of charm. The property is nestled in a private grounds, giving it a peaceful, secluded vibe that’s perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway. While the location is a bit off the beaten path, it's easily accessible by train or car, and the surrounding countryside adds to the overall experience. The architecture and interiors are incredibly photogenic—every corner looks like a scene from a period drama. The only minor downside is some noticeable sound transfer between floors, so quiet moments might be interrupted occasionally. But honestly, the ambiance, privacy, and unique character more than make up for it. A truly memorable stay with high value for money.

Barony House 5 Star Boutique BK Direct

Staying at Barony House felt like coming home—warm, welcoming, and full of heart. The location is perfect: quiet and peaceful just outside the city center, yet only a short walk from buses and all major attractions. Free parking nearby is a huge plus. The rooms are absolutely enchanting—each one feels like stepping into a beautifully preserved Victorian-era home, with elegant details and cozy charm. The breakfast is unforgettable—ordered the night before and freshly prepared in the morning using top-quality local ingredients. It’s hands-down the best breakfast I’ve had in the UK. Susan and Paul go above and beyond to make every guest feel special. Their passion for hospitality is genuine and tangible. Whether it’s a small request or a personal need, they anticipate it before you even ask. This isn’t just a hotel—it’s a family experience. I left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already planning my return. If you’re looking for authenticity, comfort, and heartfelt service, this is it.

My daughter and I stayed for four wonderful nights at this charming little guesthouse. Everything we needed was right there—comfortable beds, reliable heating, tea and coffee supplies, and a peaceful atmosphere. This place is absolutely perfect in every way! The hosts are incredibly warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The rooms are thoughtfully decorated—old-world charm blended seamlessly with modern touches, creating a truly unique atmosphere. I especially loved the breakfast area: fresh, delicious meals prepared on-site, served in a cozy, inviting space. The bathroom was spotless, brand new, and impeccably clean—every detail shows care and attention. While it’s not right in the city center, that’s actually a plus: quiet, peaceful, yet just a 1-minute walk to the bus stop. You’re only a few stops away from everything you need, and the convenience of public transport makes it easy to explore Edinburgh without hassle. It’s ideal for solo travelers like me—safe, comfortable, and genuinely welcoming. 94DR

We booked 94DR for a family reunion in early April and it was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtfully planned and incredibly welcoming. We had the entire property to ourselves, which made the gathering so much more special—spacious, beautifully designed, and full of character. The living areas were cozy yet expansive, perfect for relaxing or hosting our big celebration. Paul, the host, went above and beyond in every way. He helped us plan every detail—from arranging a delicious Scottish dinner he personally cooked (which tasted like something from a Michelin-starred restaurant) to organizing a traditional bagpipe player and drummer for our event. He even recommended an amazing photographer, Marta Rocci, who captured our family moments perfectly. The fridge was stocked with drinks and snacks, extra towels were ready, and fresh flowers added a lovely touch. The garden is spacious, private, and inviting—ideal for morning coffee or evening chats under the stars. Paul knows Edinburgh inside out and shared fantastic tips on where to eat, what to see, and how to make the most of our trip. Whether you're visiting for a family reunion, a getaway, or just to experience authentic Scottish charm, 94DR is the perfect base. But honestly, the real highlight was Paul himself—a true professional who makes every guest feel like family. If you're looking for a memorable stay with personal care and attention to detail, this place is a must-book. I can’t recommend it enough.

AmarAgua Guest House

Had an absolutely wonderful two-night stay at AmarAgua Guest House—truly exceptional! Kuan, the host, was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The traditional Scottish breakfast was a highlight—rich, hearty, and full of local charm. Our room was beautifully decorated, clean, and cozy, with thoughtful touches that made it feel special. To our delight, we were surprised with a bottle of champagne for our 50th birthday celebration—such a sweet and memorable gesture. The location is perfect too—just steps away from a peaceful country park where we spotted adorable Highland cows wandering around. It’s quiet yet close to everything we needed. We’ll definitely be back—it’s one of those rare stays that leaves you wanting more.

The Scholar

Staying at The Scholar was an absolute delight! The hotel is just a short walk from Edinburgh Castle, with bus stops only five stops away—just a quick 8-pound Uber ride if you're in a rush. The atmosphere is calm and elegant, and it feels like part of the University of Edinburgh’s exchange center. The property consists of several three- to four-story buildings, and my room was in a charming older wing—comfortable, spacious, and beautifully maintained. The cleanliness stood out immediately—everything was spotless, and the bathroom felt more like a boutique hotel than a standard accommodation. The shower setup was impressive, with strong water pressure and high-quality fixtures that reminded me of top-tier international hotels. There’s also a coffee machine in the room—perfect for a cozy morning brew. But what truly blew me away was breakfast: a full à la carte experience. I got to choose between classic Scottish haggis, vegetarian haggis, and other delicious options. The flavors were authentic and well-prepared—so good I almost wanted to extend my stay just to try everything again. It’s rare to find such thoughtful details in a city hotel, and this place delivers on comfort, convenience, and culinary quality. Highly recommended for travelers who value authenticity and a little extra luxury.

Albyn Townhouse

I can't recommend this place enough. Nestled in the charming Bruntsfield area of Edinburgh, it's just a 20-minute walk through the peaceful Meadow to the city centre—perfect for a relaxed stroll. The property sits at the end of a beautiful row of classic Edinburgh terraced homes and comes with four to five dedicated parking spaces, which is a huge plus. Inside, the house is beautifully decorated in a stylish Anglo-French-Scottish blend that truly reflects the taste of the owner, Lydie—a French native who’s now a proud long-time resident of Scotland. My room was spacious, thoughtfully furnished with a comfortable, generously sized bed, a cozy sofa, and a small window-side table ideal for two. The ensuite bathroom was perfectly sized, and the shower delivered strong, consistently hot water—just what you need after a long day. The entire home was spotless, down to the smallest detail. From the warm hospitality to the impeccable cleanliness and unique character, I’d absolutely stay here again without hesitation.

I found this apartment while searching for a cozy place to stay with my parents and grandmother, and after reading glowing reviews and browsing the photos online, it felt like the perfect fit. A premium property located in an ideal spot—close to all the city attractions yet tucked away in a peaceful neighborhood, far from the noise. The rooms were spacious, immaculately clean, and beautifully appointed. We arrived to a thoughtful welcome pack: fresh pastries, fruit, a fully stocked pantry, and even a coffee machine—so convenient! It made our short getaway feel luxurious and stress-free. The Easter weekend was especially memorable, and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a little bit of homey charm.
