I was originally looking for a lakeside homestay near Dianchi Lake, but all the options were fully booked. So I decided to go with HILLSIDE RETREAT, which happened to be ranked #1—what a lucky choice! The hotel is nestled in a quiet villa area right by the lake, just a short walk from Ethnic Village, making it super convenient for exploring. From the moment I arrived, everything felt clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. What truly stood out was the service from the lovely concierge staff—she called within minutes of my booking to confirm my preferences and greeted me warmly upon arrival. She even shared personalized travel tips for exploring Kunming, complete with local restaurant recommendations. I followed her advice and had an amazing meal at Sweet Bamboo, a must-try for Yunnan cuisine. I also picked up a beautiful bracelet at the hotel gift corner—simple yet elegant, perfect for souvenirs. Breakfast was outstanding: a wide variety of fresh, delicious dishes, especially the handmade rice noodles that I still dream about. This place offers such a peaceful retreat with exceptional hospitality and value. I’ll definitely be back.

Staying at Manyi Hotel (Kunming Dianchi Park 1903) was an absolutely fantastic experience. The hotel is brand new, spotlessly clean, and features a modern, stylish design that feels fresh and inviting. The room had excellent soundproofing—no noise from the hallway or outside, which made for a truly restful night’s sleep. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, and I woke up feeling completely refreshed. The staff at the front desk and in-room service were exceptionally warm and attentive, always ready to help with any request. Location-wise, it's unbeatable—just steps away from shopping areas and local restaurants, and a short walk to Dianchi Park. Public transit access is also convenient if you're planning to explore more of Kunming. For the quality, comfort, and value offered, this hotel is an outstanding choice.
