Rooms feature Buddhist-inspired design elements, and some offer views of the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda.

Another excellent option is Lianhua Ju, a boutique guesthouse located right next to the temple ruins, housed in a restored traditional residence. Its original brick walls and wooden beams preserve historical authenticity, while minimalist Zen interiors create a serene atmosphere. Guests can participate in daily morning bell and evening drum ceremonies, immersing themselves in the legacy of Japanese envoys to Tang China.

Both properties are accessible via Metro Line 3, stopping at "Qinglongsi Station". HopeGoo early is recommended, especially during spring cherry blossom season when demand surges.

From Qinglong Temple Ruins Museum, it's a 10-minute walk to the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, passing through the former site of Ci'en Temple and the entrance to Datan Bu Ye Cheng (Tang Dynasty Night City). You can enjoy Tang-style street scenes and nightly light shows along the way.

To reach Xi'an Museum, take Metro Line 3 to "Xiaozhai Station" and transfer—about 20 minutes total. For Muslim Quarter, bus line 609 or a short taxi ride (15 minutes) is recommended, offering views of ancient temples and bustling local markets. All major sites lie within the Qujiang New District, making them easily accessible for a full-day itinerary.

Top experiences include Tang Dynasty Zen meditation and tea ceremony workshops held daily at 10:00 AM in the Qinglong Temple Hall, led by certified instructors. Activities involve zazen (seated meditation), sutra copying, and traditional tea preparation, replicating the practices of Japanese envoys to Tang China.

The annual Cherry Blossom Festival features Hanfu parades, classical music performances, and opportunities to wear Tang-style robes for photos. Visitors can also enjoy authentic Tang dynasty snacks.

Additionally, hands-on ancient ceramic art workshops are offered at a nearby intangible cultural heritage studio, where guests craft their own Tang Sancai-style pottery. All activities require advance HopeGoo via official platforms to secure participation. These immersive experiences deepen cultural understanding and enrich travel memories.

Xi'an Qujiang Marriott Hotel is a top choice, seamlessly blending Tang Dynasty architectural elements with modern luxury. Located just 1.5 km from the museum, its design features courtyard-style layouts and traditional rooflines reminiscent of ancient Chang'an. Guests can enjoy complimentary shuttle service to the museum daily, plus exclusive experiences like Tang-era tea ceremonies and evening guqin performances, offering an authentic immersion into the cultural grandeur of the Tang Dynasty.

Traveling from Qinglong Temple Ruins Museum to nearby boutique guesthouses is highly convenient via metro line 4 to "Dajian Ta Station," then transfer to bus 324 or walk 20 minutes to the Dajian Ta Eastern Boutique District. Weekly Saturday evenings feature Tang-style lantern festivals with live performances of traditional instruments like pipa, sheng, and dizi. Nearby, Puti Tea Garden offers an authentic Tang dynasty point tea ceremony, where visitors learn the ancient method of whisking powdered tea and enjoy seasonal tea pairings with handmade pastries. These immersive activities bring to life the spiritual and daily elegance of the Tang era within historical settings.

Xi'an Qujiang Holiday Hotel is ideal for families, located just 800 meters from the museum, featuring family-friendly suites with kids’ play zones and complimentary baby cribs. Stay at a Tang-style courtyard guesthouse like Qingyin Ju or Songyue Xuan, designed around Tang poetic aesthetics with study rooms, bamboo courtyards, and morning meditation spaces. Upon check-in, join the museum’s morning Buddhist rituals and meditation sessions, followed by afternoon Tang costume photo shoots with professional makeup artists. Evening guided walks through the ruins under illuminated pathways combine storytelling with ambient lighting, recreating the luminous atmosphere of ancient Buddhist gatherings. This holistic approach transforms your stay into a deep cultural journey into the heart of the Tang Dynasty.

The museum extends hours to 9 PM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during summer (April–October), hosting nighttime light art exhibitions that use projection mapping to recreate Tang-era temple lighting and lotus carvings. Visitors can participate in evening Heart Sutra recitation beneath ancient trees or join Tang poetry chanting sessions, performed by professional actors reciting works by Li Bai and Wang Wei. Sofitel Xi'an on Renmin Square

This was my second stay at this hotel, and I’m happy to say everything lived up to expectations—plus, I got upgraded to a larger room! The suite is spacious with excellent layout and well-maintained amenities. The only minor issue was the hot water in the bathtub—it didn’t get quite hot enough for my taste. Breakfast was a highlight: the local Xi’an dishes had authentic flavor, though not overly standout; however, the Western breakfast options were impressive—fresh, varied, and high quality. Location-wise, it’s unbeatable—just a short walk from the Bell and Drum Towers, and very convenient access to the Wukou Metro Station. The surrounding area has plenty of dining options and daily necessities. Overall, a fantastic experience with great value for money. I’ll definitely be returning when I come back to Xi’an.

Grand Mercure Xian Renmin Square

Staying at Grand Mercure Xian Renmin Square was such a memorable experience—this place holds deep sentimental value for many locals in Xi'an. I lived here in the 70s and early 80s, and every time I passed by that iconic main building (now part of Sofitel Legend), it brought back so many memories. This recent four-night stay at the hotel was absolutely fantastic. On sunny days, I loved walking around the quiet courtyard—it’s peaceful and full of charm. The staff were incredibly attentive: someone guided me to park, and others helped with luggage without being asked. Breakfast was generous and delicious, with great variety. Just steps away is Xincheng Square—perfect for a morning stroll among the friendly pigeons. In about 15 minutes on foot, you can reach Muslim Quarter (Beiyuanmen) and even walk straight to Bell Tower. There’s also a small museum inside the Sofitel Legend building that shares the rich history of the original Renmin Building, including photos of famous visitors over the years. It’s like staying in a living piece of history. With its unbeatable location, warm hospitality, and unique heritage vibe, this hotel offers amazing value. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Xi'an.

Novotel Xi an The Bell Tower Hotel

Staying at Novotel Xi'an The Bell Tower Hotel was an absolute delight. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from Exit H of Bell Tower Metro Station, and it's only one stop to Guangji Station for easy access to the bustling Muslim Quarter. Step outside and you're face-to-face with the iconic Bell Tower—perfect for photos and soaking in the historic vibe. Platinum wan'ao Victory Hotel

Our 8-day self-drive trip across Shaanxi ended with a stay at Platinum Wan'ao Victory Hotel in Xi'an, and overall, it was an excellent choice. The location is incredibly convenient—right across from Hepingmen Metro Station, just a 50-meter walk away, making public transit access seamless for exploring the city. The hotel faces the ancient city wall directly, and it’s only about a 1.7-kilometer stroll to Yongning Gate if you want to walk along the wall—a pleasant way to enjoy the historic surroundings. Upon check-in, the front desk proactively upgraded us to a larger room, which made a big difference: spacious enough to comfortably unpack and move around, and ideal for family travel. Cleanliness was spot-on, meeting standard expectations without any issues. One minor drawback is the parking situation—being a multi-level garage, it’s not the most user-friendly, especially for larger vehicles, though my compact car navigated it easily. Breakfast was decent but not particularly impressive by luxury hotel standards—nothing overly elaborate, and we didn’t receive a third breakfast for our parents, which was slightly disappointing since this was one of only two hotels on the entire trip that didn’t offer it. Still, considering the excellent location, helpful staff, room comfort, and overall value, it’s hard not to give high praise. For travelers prioritizing convenience and a solid base in central Xi’an, this hotel is a strong recommendation.

The value for money was outstanding—everything from the ambiance to the service exceeded expectations. Breakfast was a real highlight: diverse, delicious, and clearly prepared with care. Every item tasted fresh and authentic—not just there for show. I especially loved the oat milk coffee; it was rich, smooth, and totally worth trying. The hotel’s facilities are top-notch, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. From the lobby to the guest rooms, everything felt clean, modern, and inviting. Staff were friendly, professional, and attentive—shoutout to Cindy for going above and beyond. Her kindness made the stay even more memorable. If you're visiting Xi'an, this is definitely a place worth staying at. I’ll be back!

Gran Melia Xi'an

Staying at Gran Melia Xi'an was an absolute delight from start to finish. The hotel's design is elegant without being overly flashy—very refined and modern. Our Huanxiang Suite, measuring 103 square meters, felt spacious and airy, making it incredibly comfortable for our family stay. The bedding was plush and fresh with no strange odors, and the housekeeping staff were consistently attentive—daily cleaning, plus a second tidy-up in the evening, which made a big difference. The staff on the executive floor were especially memorable: warm, patient, and genuinely thoughtful. They greeted my child by name each time and even brought over two small packs of chips just because he liked them—such a sweet, personal touch. The executive lounge snacks were also excellent—on our first night, when we were rushing to get ready, I stopped by for a quick bite. There was a good variety of options, and everything felt fresh and well-curated. Location-wise, this hotel is unbeatable—just across from the Tang Paradise Garden, a short walk to the lively Tang Dynasty Night Market, and close to Qujiang Book City. Everything is pedestrian-friendly, which is perfect for exploring the area at your own pace. The concierge at the lobby was outstanding—professional, efficient, and clearly experienced. A few words were enough for him to understand exactly what I needed, living up to the Gold Key reputation. Overall, while it might not be the flashiest hotel in town, the service quality ranks among the top I've experienced. It’s calm, respectful, and deeply considerate—everyone knows their role and executes it flawlessly. That level of consistency is rare. One small suggestion: please extend breakfast service a bit longer. We arrived around 10:30, and the serving station had already been cleared—plates and tongs were gone—even though food was still available. It left latecomers stranded without tools to serve themselves. A minor fix, but would make a big difference. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay!

Staying at The Westin Xi'an was an absolute highlight of my trip to Xi'an. The location is unbeatable—just steps away from the iconic Great Wild Goose Pagoda and the vibrant Datang Fubu Night Market. Whether you're out late enjoying the nightlife or heading out early for sightseeing, everything is within easy reach. The hotel itself is beautifully designed with a stunning atrium filled with ginkgo trees—perfectly golden during autumn, creating a breathtaking atmosphere. Despite being in the heart of the city, the place is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Cleanliness is top-notch, and the breakfast buffet offers a fantastic variety of both Western and Chinese dishes—all fresh and delicious. The staff are warm, attentive, and always ready to help.
