I also tried Xinhuaxi Beef Noodle Soup—it was delicious and definitely worth a visit. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, the lobby was bright and clean, and the room itself was spotless and well-maintained. Everything felt fresh and comfortable. It’s such a convenient base for exploring the city while enjoying authentic local food. Highly recommend this hotel for travelers who value location, cleanliness, and good service.

The location is excellent—just a short walk from Exit 1 of the Tongjie Bridge Metro Station on Line 4, making public transit incredibly convenient. Whether heading into the city center or exploring nearby attractions, everything was easily accessible. While some areas of the hotel are still under renovation, it didn’t affect the overall quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The surroundings are calm and free from noise, perfect for a good night’s rest. With its affordable price point and high comfort level, this hotel offers great value. I’d definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Suzhou.

Suyuan Hotel

Stayed at Suyuan Hotel during my visit to Suzhou, and I was genuinely impressed. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming—when they noticed we had a young child, they proactively offered us a larger twin room with plenty of space, which made our family stay much more comfortable. The room facilities were standard but well-maintained; the bathtub was a big hit with my little one, who spent ages splashing around. The air conditioning worked perfectly—the temperature was just right for autumn, so we didn’t need to crank it up too high. One of the highlights was the large koi pond in the courtyard, where we could buy fish food and feed the colorful fish. My child loved it and couldn’t stop smiling while watching them swim. The entire place was clean and well-kept with no lingering odors or hygiene issues. Overall, this is a great value-for-money option, especially for families. They even provide different sizes of detergent and disinfectant, which is thoughtful for guests with varying needs. The dryer is a game-changer, especially in Suzhou’s chilly winter weather when clothes take forever to air-dry. After late-night meetings, returning to the hotel feels like coming home—warm, cozy, and they even serve a complimentary night-time porridge. It's their local specialty: sweet red bean and brown sugar congee, comforting and delicious. Athena, one of the staff members, stands out with her friendly, attentive service—always ready to help. I’ll definitely be back for my next trip here.

Metropolo Jinjiang Hotel (Suzhou Hualong Tuanjieqiao Metro Station)

This was my fourth visit to Metropolo Jinjiang Hotel in Suzhou, and I can confidently say it’s become my go-to choice for every trip here. The value for money is outstanding, and the location couldn’t be better—right next to Tuanjieqiao Metro Station on Line 4, making travel from the train station a breeze. This time, I drove myself and appreciated the complimentary parking, which made the whole experience even more convenient. The hotel’s new dining area offers a much richer breakfast selection than before, and you get great quality without breaking the bank. My wife used to only stay at five-star hotels, but after retirement, we started budgeting carefully—and during one of our stays here, we were pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and well-appointed the standard room felt. It easily matched the comfort of many four-star properties we’ve stayed at. Since then, this has been our consistent choice whenever visiting Suzhou. Nearby, there’s a self-service restaurant with clean, fresh food and rotating daily menus—plus, meals are half-price after 7 PM, which is a fantastic deal. I also want to highlight the free laundry room, which comes with detergent and disinfectant spray. It’s such a thoughtful touch, especially when traveling with luggage. Homeinn Selected Hotel (Suzhou Renmin South Road)

I absolutely have to give a shoutout to the sweet staff member who brought me a spare air pump and a little cake on the night of the 31st—her name was two characters, petite but incredibly thoughtful. The hotel itself is clean, well-maintained, and the room was spotless. What stood out most was how spacious the bathroom was—really a pleasant surprise. The only minor downside is the soundproofing; it’s not great, especially if you’re sensitive to noise. Also, getting from the entrance to the twin-bed room requires a bit of walking through what feels like a maze-like hallway. But honestly, these small quirks don’t take away from the overall great experience. Excellent value, friendly service, and a cozy stay—definitely planning to come back.
