Celebrating New Year's Day at Rosewood Beijing was the perfect way to start the year. With chilly weather outside, staying put in this luxurious hotel felt like a dream. I’ve always admired Rosewood’s design aesthetic, and this stay didn’t disappoint—the executive suite might not be huge, but the view from the windows is absolutely unbeatable. Even the little touches, like my initials embroidered on the pillowcase, made the experience feel personal and special. The executive lounge exceeded expectations—both the food quality and service were outstanding, easily among the best I’ve experienced in China. And then there’s the pool: even in winter, it feels like stepping into a serene greenhouse garden. Calm, elegant, and breathtakingly beautiful—hands down, one of the most stunning pools in Beijing. A true gem.
BEI Zhaolong Hotel, JdV by Hyatt
I only had one day in Beijing and needed a hotel with great transit access, so I chose BEI Zhaolong Hotel, JdV by Hyatt. Right outside the door are the Line 3 and Line 10 metro stations, and transferring to the Capital Airport Express is super convenient. It’s also just a short walk to Pop Mart Park, and surrounded by Sanlitun Taikoo Li—perfect for dining and shopping. Overall, the value for money is excellent. The room has a clean, minimalist design with a spacious king bed that made for a comfortable sleep. The only minor downsides were the small toilet (a bit tight for taller guests) and the showerhead, which felt a bit weak—would be great if they upgraded to a larger flow model next time. All in all, this is an ideal choice for travelers who don’t care about luxury finishes or being right on top of tourist hotspots, but really prioritize easy access to public transport.

For under $25, this place is absolutely worth it. Right next to Guomao Subway Station—super convenient for getting to Universal Studios or the airport without transfers. There are tons of dining options right downstairs, so you never have to go far for a meal. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful—always smiling and ready to assist. I stayed in a tatami room, and the bed was spacious and firm, which I actually preferred. It’s not too soft, so I slept really well. Just one small suggestion: adding disposable cups for brushing teeth would be a nice touch. Overall, the value for money is excellent, and I’d definitely stay here again.

The front desk staff are incredibly attentive and always prepared with anything you might need: chopsticks, insulated food bags, umbrellas, even a translation tool. Their responsiveness and warmth stand out compared to any other hotel I’ve stayed at across multiple countries. The room is spacious and comfortable, with a well-balanced mattress—firm enough for support but soft enough to feel cozy. Linens are crisp, clean, and smooth to the touch, while towels are fresh, plush, and branded with the hotel’s logo—such a nice detail. Breakfast is thoughtfully varied; the chef at the buffet line actually prepares different dishes each day instead of repeating the same menu, which keeps it interesting. While not fancy, the food is always satisfying, flavorful, and abundant—never left me hungry. On the ground floor, there’s a small convenience store, coin-operated laundry machines (they provide detergent pods and even loan drying racks), and vending machines offering everything from socks to power banks at great prices. Just across the street, 200 meters away, is Jiatai Metro Station on Line 14 (Exit B), leading directly into a bustling shopping center filled with restaurants, cafes, and stores—perfect for exploring. The housekeeping team is respectful and discreet—they always arrived after 11 a.m., never disturbed our rest, and cleaned thoroughly every time. The bathroom features a large walk-in shower area, though like most hotels in China, it lacks a toilet plunger—something that feels unusual if you’re used to Western standards, but completely normal here. Overall, this place exceeds expectations for its category. I’d absolutely return—this hotel truly delivers a high-quality, stress-free experience.
