Tongli Lake View Hotel

This has been one of the most satisfying hotel stays I've had in years. From the moment I booked, a staff member reached out proactively to understand my needs—something that instantly set the tone for an exceptional experience. Upon arrival, Xiao Qiu was incredibly helpful, patiently guiding me through room selection and even arranging two connecting rooms that perfectly suited our family. Though the hotel opened in 2004 and shows a bit of age on the outside, the interior is well-maintained and recently renovated last year—no lingering construction smell at all. The rooms are modern, clean, and fully equipped, with standout features like the electric towel warmer that everyone loved. Dining options were excellent too—the breakfast spread was diverse and delicious, and the pool water was crystal clear. The view from Daguanyuan at night was breathtaking, almost worth the trip on its own. One unexpected highlight? Free photography service included in the stay. The three professionally edited photos turned out beautifully, and my family still talk about them. What truly sets this place apart is the staff. Every single person we met—from front desk to housekeeping—was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. Their level of hospitality far exceeded what I’ve experienced at many international luxury chains. Special thanks to Xiao Qiu (Sales), Xiao Wei (Chinese Restaurant), Xiao Yao (Concierge), Wang Zhi (Housekeeping), and all the other friendly faces who made our stay so memorable. The fitness center is immaculate, with well-maintained equipment, and the indoor pool offers consistent temperature and humidity—ideal for a relaxing swim without the crowds. The front desk staff, Sawyer, was exceptionally friendly and professional, offering thoughtful travel tips that made our trip much smoother. From the location to the service, every detail was outstanding. This stay exceeded my expectations, and I’ll definitely be back.

The restaurant downstairs is bustling and packed with locals, offering a wide variety of dishes and excellent value for money. The food was fresh, flavorful, and diverse. Overall, this place offers incredible value and comfort. I’ll definitely be returning next time I’m in Suzhou.

The blackout curtains worked perfectly, and the smart toilet was a real upgrade. Everything from the toiletries to the bathroom layout (including great dry/wet separation) felt thoughtfully designed. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly—the lady smiled warmly, checked us in in seconds, and even offered to carry our luggage up when they saw we had a lot. They also provided a free shopping bag and a helpful city map. Breakfast was outstanding—wide variety, freshly prepared, and the staff were proactive about refilling plates and drinks.
