Nuanjuge Homestay

It’s just a 3-minute walk to the Palace Museum and Zhang Zuolin Mansion, and from the front door, you can see the historic mansion’s iconic buildings. A 10-15 minute stroll brings you to Zhongjie (Central Street), while Dadao Supermarket is also close by. I even visited the Xiaoheyan Morning Market—such a vibrant local experience. The hosts went above and beyond by providing two bottles of water—small but thoughtful gestures like this make a big difference. The heating system is excellent; I wore just a short-sleeve shirt without turning on the AC and still felt perfectly warm. Even better: the room had glow-in-the-dark stickers for easy navigation at night—super helpful when checking in late. The location couldn’t be better—peaceful neighborhood, spotless rooms, fresh linens, and a mattress that offered just the right balance of softness and support. I slept through the night without disturbance. The south-facing windows let in abundant sunlight, and the air feels clean and refreshing. My parents were equally impressed—the warmth and hospitality of Northeastern locals really shine through. Food here is fantastic too—I actually gained two pounds from all the delicious meals! Plus, it’s super convenient for visiting Liu Laogen Grand Theater and Central Street. One of the most appreciated perks? Free luggage storage, which made my travel plans so much easier. It was such a surprise and truly made our stay more special, especially for our elders who rarely splurge on upgrades. What stood out even more was that someone from the team called ahead to confirm our arrival details and even provided clear instructions about parking—so much for peace of mind! When we had to wait briefly for our room to be ready, instead of just letting us sit, they brought over a small snack specifically for our 4-year-old daughter. She lit up instantly, turning what could’ve been a boring wait into a sweet little moment. Breakfast was another highlight—despite having two kids (one taller than standard), the staff didn’t treat us like a hassle. They welcomed us warmly and handled everything with grace. One detail I’ll never forget: when our napkins ran out, a supervisor personally came over to replace them—no one else was assigned, no script, just genuine care. Throughout our stay, housekeeping staff remained courteous, quiet, and always ready to help if needed, yet never intrusive. The only minor suggestions: there’s a bit of room for improvement in water supply—more bottles or easier access to refills would boost comfort. Also, while the carpet was clean, it looked slightly dull; upgrading the cleaning or considering a refresh might better match the hotel’s premium feel. To be honest, we also stayed at other hotels during this trip—including Jinzhou New World and Qinhuangdao Shangri-La—but none matched the level of thoughtfulness, warmth, and proactive service we experienced here. This wasn’t just good hospitality—it felt human. We’re already planning our next visit to Shenyang, and New World will definitely be our first choice.
