Olas Altas Inn Hotel & Spa

Everything was perfect during my stay here—truly a standout experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm and welcoming, making check-in smooth and stress-free. The room was immaculate, spacious, and beautifully designed with a modern yet cozy touch. I especially appreciated the excellent soundproofing, which made for a peaceful night's sleep. The hotel’s location is ideal—just a short walk from local restaurants and attractions, and easily accessible by public transit. The spa was an absolute highlight; the massage therapist was skilled and attentive, leaving me completely relaxed. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Mazatlán. It’s not just a hotel—it’s a retreat. Can’t wait to come back soon!

Best Western Posada Freeman

Despite some aged facilities, it's understandable given the hotel's over 80-year history. The location is nearly perfect—most of the Old Town attractions are just a short walk away, and the ocean views are absolutely stunning. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the stay feel warm and personal. Breakfast isn't overly elaborate, but the dining area is cozy and comfortable, perfect for starting the day right. The only minor downside is that weekend evenings can get noisy from music on the street in front—definitely noticeable if you're light sleeper. Still, this doesn't take away from an overall fantastic experience. Great value, great atmosphere, and a memorable stay that I’d happily repeat.

Hacienda Mazatlán Sea View

Staying at this hotel in the golden zone was an absolute delight. Even though we only spent one night, the experience was unforgettable. The Hacienda Mazatlán Sea View truly lives up to its reputation—elegant, comfortable, and impeccably maintained. Our room had a stunning ocean view that made waking up every morning a joy. The staff were warm and attentive without being intrusive, and the location is perfect—just steps away from local restaurants, shops, and the beach. It’s rare to find a property that offers such luxury and comfort at this level, especially for a short stay. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mazatlán. This isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s a true getaway.

Casa de Leyendas

Staying at this hotel was an absolute delight! The location is perfect—just a short walk from the High Waves Boardwalk and close to the city center, so you don’t need to rely on transportation. The staff, especially the owner, were incredibly warm and welcoming. Every time I passed by, he’d greet me with a smile, asking if I was comfortable or if I needed anything. That personal touch made such a difference. The service was outstanding, and the whole experience felt genuine and caring. Clean rooms, quiet surroundings, and a great vibe—it’s definitely one of the best stays I’ve had in Mexico. Would highly recommend and plan to return soon!

Posada 53

Staying at Posada 53 in Mazatlán was a real disappointment overall. While the secure parking was a welcome relief after hours behind the wheel with full suitcases, the room itself didn’t match any expectations. Located on the top floor, it had a strong sewer-like smell and no windows—completely airless and stuffy. Two beds, but only a bottom sheet provided, and no towels or soap. We were hot and tired, so we thought turning on the AC would help, but it only ran for about 30 minutes before shutting off automatically—leaving us trapped in a sweltering, smelly box. To make matters worse, our room was right next to the staff laundry area. Late-night arguments continued until 2:30 AM, followed by a knock at midnight from someone delivering towels and soap—despite never requesting them. More shouting and slamming doors erupted around 6 AM. The location is great, and the front desk staff was genuinely kind, but the price charged to my 81-year-old mother ($1,350 MXN) felt excessive and unfair. I won’t be returning, nor would I recommend this place to anyone seeking a decent night’s sleep. If you're just passing through and don’t care about comfort, maybe it’s an option—but for restful travel? Definitely not.

Hotel Playa Marina

Staying at Hotel Playa Marina was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the beach and surrounded by great local restaurants and shops. The room was clean, spacious, and incredibly comfortable, with a plush bed that made falling asleep easy and waking up refreshing. The air conditioning worked flawlessly, which was a lifesaver during the hot Mexican days. Staff were friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make sure we felt welcome—especially when they offered assistance with our luggage. What stood out most was the stunning ocean view from our balcony; waking up to the sound of waves and sunlight streaming in was pure bliss. It’s rare to find such comfort and value in one place. I’d definitely book here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mazatlán.

Hotel la Siesta Malecón

We've stayed at Hotel La Siesta Malecón before, and it's definitely a place we'd return to. Right on the edge of the beach, just a few steps from the ocean, the location is unbeatable. The staff were incredibly helpful—when we asked to switch rooms for a better sea view, they accommodated us with no hassle. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a nice family-friendly vibe. It’s also conveniently close to the historic center, making it easy to take long evening walks along the malecón. The combination of seaside access, great service, and a relaxed, local feel makes this hotel a standout choice. If you love walking through charming streets and soaking in coastal views, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommended!

Casa Lucila Mazatlán Curamoria Collection

Absolutely recommend this gem of a hotel! Located just steps from the scenic malecón, it's perfect for soaking in the coastal vibe. The property itself is beautifully designed with an artistic flair, and the views from the rooms are breathtaking—especially at sunrise. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making our stay truly memorable. It’s a hidden treasure with an unbeatable combination of charm, comfort, and value. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Las 7 Maravillas - Adults Only

This place is absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, everything felt so welcoming and special. Our room, Egypt, was stunning — a breathtaking ocean view, a private porch perfect for morning coffee, a hot tub, and comfy outdoor loungers. The cleanliness and attention to detail were top-notch. Breakfast was an experience: fresh fruit, daily rotating yogurt flavors, granola, and that famous coffee served in traditional clay mugs — pure joy. And then came Tatiana’s personal touch — her delicious final breakfast course was unforgettable. Just one block from El Malecón, it’s easy to walk down and hop on a pulmonía or araña to explore the city. But the real highlight? Tatiana herself. She’s not just the owner — she’s a local guide, friend, and tour planner all in one. She arranged a fantastic trip to El Quelite at a great price, including a delicious meal. Gustavo joined us too — warm, fun, and full of insider knowledge. They made us feel like family. The property is secure, beautifully maintained, and incredibly peaceful. You come here as a guest… and leave as a friend. If you’re visiting Mazatlán, this is the only place to stay.

The Melville Boutique Hotel

My seven-night stay at The Melville Boutique Hotel was absolutely perfect — a dream come true. I’ve wanted to visit this place for years, and it exceeded every expectation. Suite 18, also known as the Juan Ocon Suite, was spacious, beautifully renovated, and thoughtfully preserved its historic charm. The kitchenette was ideal for preparing light meals and breakfasts. The king-sized bed was incredibly comfortable, and my husband and I slept soundly throughout Carnival, thanks to our foam earplugs. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely kind — especially the housekeeper who cleaned our suite daily with a smile that lit up the room. The second-floor terrace overlooking the lush courtyard became our favorite spot for afternoon naps, surrounded by greenery and blooming bougainvilleas. The birdsong at dawn and dusk added a magical touch to the peaceful atmosphere. Located right in the heart of Centro Histórico, we were steps away from Plaza Machada and the Malecón. It was such a thoughtful gesture to provide a 19-liter jug of drinking water in the room — very convenient and appreciated. I truly wish we could have stayed longer. This hotel is a gem. Highly recommended for anyone seeking authenticity, comfort, and a memorable experience.

Villa Serena Centro Historico

This place is absolutely perfect! It’s my top pick in Mazatlán, and I can’t recommend it enough. The apartment was beautifully designed with a lovely blend of historic charm and modern comforts. My room had two bathrooms, three beds, a cozy living area, Netflix, a small kitchen, and a private patio with a washer/dryer and a dining table—so convenient for longer stays. The building itself has such character, with elegant flooring and thoughtful details throughout. Best of all, it’s located just a 5-minute walk from the historic district, and you’re only 3-4 blocks away from both the beach and the lively Olas Altas area. Perfect location, incredible value, and exceptional service—this is exactly what I look for in a stay. I’ll definitely be back!

Hotel Boutique Casa Lulu

This place is absolutely perfect for unwinding and recharging. From the moment we arrived, Casa Lulu felt like a peaceful retreat—serene, private, and beautifully designed. The rooms are spacious, thoughtfully furnished, and completely quiet, which made it easy to disconnect from the everyday chaos. We loved strolling along the malecón just steps away—perfect for morning walks or sunset views. Everything you need is right there: comfort, tranquility, and a genuine sense of calm. Whether you're traveling with your partner or simply craving some quiet time, this is the ideal spot to relax and truly recharge. No distractions, no noise—just peace and simple luxury. I’d come back in a heartbeat.
