The breakfast buffet was fantastic, offering a wide variety of options, including authentic local favorites like lamb stewed bread (yang rou pao mo), meat-filled buns (rou jia mo), Biangbiang noodles, and Zengao. Plus, the garden features two gorgeous peacocks that stroll around peacefully—perfect for photos. The parking was surprisingly easy during my visit in May, which made arriving and leaving stress-free. My room was spotless, well-maintained, and had all the modern amenities I needed. What stood out most was the unique artistic design throughout the property—it feels more like staying in a creative gallery than a typical hotel. If you're looking for comfort, convenience, and a touch of culture in your stay, this place delivers on every level. Highly recommended for travelers who want to be right in the heart of the action.

Tang Dynasty Art Garden Hotel

This stay was absolutely magical—a true escape into a poetic dream. From the moment I stepped in, I felt like I’d wandered into the private retreat of a classical Chinese scholar. The architecture is deeply traditional: a tranquil courtyard complex with bamboo groves, three distinct inner courtyards—one adorned with a statue, another with a gentle fountain and chirping birds, and a covered pavilion perfect for quiet meals or intimate conversations. Red lanterns drape the corridors, while elegant calligraphy from China’s greatest poets lines the walls inside both hallways and rooms. The rooms themselves are furnished with authentic Chinese furniture—slightly worn, but that only adds to the charm and sense of history. The hotel sits just steps away from the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, and within easy reach of the bustling Great Tang Mall, where traditional-style shops, cultural performances, and lively street scenes unfold. Yet despite all the energy outside, the hotel remains peacefully serene. Twice during my visit, a young woman played the guqin in the courtyard—her delicate music drifting through the air, adding an almost otherworldly stillness. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, even if their English was limited. Their genuine kindness made me feel truly welcomed and at home. I didn’t dine at the restaurant, but every room comes equipped with a small kitchenette, kettle, and complimentary tea—perfect for relaxing moments. This isn’t just a hotel; it’s an experience. I’d recommend it without hesitation to anyone I care about who appreciates beauty, culture, and quiet elegance.

Absolutely exceeded my expectations! The attention to detail throughout the stay was outstanding. Fresh fruits and homemade snacks were available all day, plus a complimentary drink and coffee—such a thoughtful touch. I loved spending time in the lounge area by the front desk, sipping my coffee while listening to soft background music; it felt like being in a quiet retreat within the city. Despite being centrally located, the atmosphere remained peaceful and serene—perfect for unwinding after exploring the historic sites. Easy access to public transport made getting around town a breeze. This place blends traditional Chinese aesthetics with modern comfort beautifully. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic cultural experience with excellent service.

Novotel Xi an The Bell Tower Hotel

Staying at Novotel Xi'an The Bell Tower Hotel was an absolute delight. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from Exit H of Bell Tower Metro Station, and it's only one stop to Guangji Station for easy access to the bustling Muslim Quarter. Step outside and you're face-to-face with the iconic Bell Tower—perfect for photos and soaking in the historic vibe. The staff, from security to front desk and laundry team, were all friendly, professional, and attentive without being overbearing. Breakfast was fantastic—daily rotating menu with fresh, diverse options that kept us excited every morning. My parents especially loved the afternoon tea service; after a long day of exploring, returning to a cozy corner with a warm drink and light bites was pure bliss. This hotel delivers on comfort, convenience, and charm. I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Xi’an—and I’ll definitely be back.

Platinum wan'ao Victory Hotel

Our 8-day self-drive trip across Shaanxi ended with a stay at Platinum Wan'ao Victory Hotel in Xi'an, and overall, it was an excellent choice. The location is incredibly convenient—right across from Hepingmen Metro Station, just a 50-meter walk away, making public transit access seamless for exploring the city. The hotel faces the ancient city wall directly, and it’s only about a 1.7-kilometer stroll to Yongning Gate if you want to walk along the wall—a pleasant way to enjoy the historic surroundings. Upon check-in, the front desk proactively upgraded us to a larger room, which made a big difference: spacious enough to comfortably unpack and move around, and ideal for family travel. Cleanliness was spot-on, meeting standard expectations without any issues. One minor drawback is the parking situation—being a multi-level garage, it’s not the most user-friendly, especially for larger vehicles, though my compact car navigated it easily. Breakfast was decent but not particularly impressive by luxury hotel standards—nothing overly elaborate, and we didn’t receive a third breakfast for our parents, which was slightly disappointing since this was one of only two hotels on the entire trip that didn’t offer it. Still, considering the excellent location, helpful staff, room comfort, and overall value, it’s hard not to give high praise. For travelers prioritizing convenience and a solid base in central Xi’an, this hotel is a strong recommendation.

Gran Melia Xi'an

Staying at Gran Melia Xi'an was an absolute delight from start to finish. The hotel's design is elegant without being overly flashy—very refined and modern. Our Huanxiang Suite, measuring 103 square meters, felt spacious and airy, making it incredibly comfortable for our family stay. The bedding was plush and fresh with no strange odors, and the housekeeping staff were consistently attentive—daily cleaning, plus a second tidy-up in the evening, which made a big difference. The staff on the executive floor were especially memorable: warm, patient, and genuinely thoughtful. They greeted my child by name each time and even brought over two small packs of chips just because he liked them—such a sweet, personal touch. The executive lounge snacks were also excellent—on our first night, when we were rushing to get ready, I stopped by for a quick bite. There was a good variety of options, and everything felt fresh and well-curated. Location-wise, this hotel is unbeatable—just across from the Tang Paradise Garden, a short walk to the lively Tang Dynasty Night Market, and close to Qujiang Book City. Everything is pedestrian-friendly, which is perfect for exploring the area at your own pace. The concierge at the lobby was outstanding—professional, efficient, and clearly experienced. A few words were enough for him to understand exactly what I needed, living up to the Gold Key reputation. Overall, while it might not be the flashiest hotel in town, the service quality ranks among the top I've experienced. It’s calm, respectful, and deeply considerate—everyone knows their role and executes it flawlessly. That level of consistency is rare. One small suggestion: please extend breakfast service a bit longer. We arrived around 10:30, and the serving station had already been cleared—plates and tongs were gone—even though food was still available. It left latecomers stranded without tools to serve themselves. A minor fix, but would make a big difference. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay!
